qb's main role is to make smart decisions. ponder has necessary arm strength to complete most NFL throws. therefore, his arm is perfectly fine to be a good NFL qb.

The guy just threw for 60 yards in a NFL game with a 2.9 YPC....I think we can question if that's accurate.

Dont get why these teams still draft these QB's with so little upside early.
Its pure bullshyt... I looked at the draft in 2011 and we could have got some decent prospects for the 12th pick... played out the season and waited for the 2012 draft that was DEEP with QB talent... Vikings fukked that one up...

I really dont know what you're talking about
because of people obsessed with qbs, rebuilding organizations are pressured into taking qbs early, while ignoring other important areas like shytty defense, in fear of public backlash and losing their spot.
therefore they take the 'safe' route and gamble on a QB. if he works out- theyre great. if he doesn't-they can blame the QB- look we gambled and it didnt work out but at least we took a QB. a gamble on other position that doesnt work out means most likely you're fired.

Poor AD just rotting away on that piece of shyt team

The team is fine... His QB is trash... If he didn't like the team, then he wouldn't have signed his prime years to them...

I hate nikkas that only expect great players to play for the best teams...

:pachaha:There would be no point to even having over 32 teams in the NFL if that was the case....

pressure from fans to draft QBs early and force them to be the answer to all problems rather than a cog in the system.

If we lost that colts game last year, we would have had RGIII :damn: :noah:

The NFL needs to change that shyt. How is it that a team like the Arizona Cardinals has never had the #1 pick, but a team like the Colts are able to sneak in there twice in the last 20 years and grab 2 franchise/potential GOAT/ Hall Of Fame QB's? :scusthov:

They need to Just give teams like the Cardinals and Browns the 1st off gp....Not every year, but just based on being bad for so long other than a couple of fluke years.

Colts spend a whole decade as Superbowl contenders, have one bad year thrown in there, and then are able to draft maybe the most highly touted QB prospect of all time?

Luck should've went to the Browns. They're truly the worst team in the league, consistently.

Ponder wasn't a gamble it was a shytty pick. Missing on a QB that early sets your organization back a few years. At least now the rookie contracts arent nearly as damaging.

breh,Vikings are nowhere near winning a SB in the NFC let alone their own division. There's way too much competition in the NFC for the Vikings. If they was AFC then yeah, they'd probably be facing the Pats in the championship game almost every other year

plenty of other qbs who threw for under 100 yards in nfl history, who had a great arm.

tom brady threw for under 100 yards 5 times in his career
troy aikman had more than 10 of such games

again, the stat you used proves absolutely nothing

His arm isnt very good. Corners can press and force Ponder to try and beat them deep, which he struggles with. He's being aided with a top notch running game as well. He just isnt very good.

most early qb picks in first round are shytty picks, especially in hindsight. they are almost all gambles from organizations point of view.

just because your dumb ass pegged him right doesnt mean he wasnt a gamble.

You dont draft a QB that early, especially in a trade up with questionable measurables.

And resorting to name calling now? Ive been fairly correct with most recent QB's. Its not that difficult to tell guys like Gabbert and Ponder stink.

He never lost it. He just let other guys battle for second place during his leave of absence. They just didn't realize they were battling over second place.
