pretty much. us and uk police are completely different and if our police get overwhelmed, the military gets involved. Our police pretty much have the equipment to be a pseudo-military unit... plus our police are very aggressive.

it's not really about our police is tougher as some kind of badge of merit. It's more along the lines of the police being militarized is a SERIOUS problem. That's why you won't see all the riots you will elsewhere. America is turning into a police state and with the technology they have at their hands, it's not a big surprise why the population isn't so eager to revolt. Saying Americans are punks and weak because we didn't revolt is nonsense when the repercussions for revolting are much different here.

This 'who is harder' movement is played out. These my area is harder than yours dudes see a boost to their ego, when they really should see a black man robbing, stealing and killing from another black man... and we have the audacity to wonder why our communities are messed up. We cherish being 'hard', aka doing messed up things to other blacks, and then on the other hand, we say, "Man we need to love each other more." You can't do both.

more like it's a direct reply to this notion that london blacks are 'harder' than american blacks because they rioted and 'shut down the police force'... when in reality, the police force here is much more militarized and aggressive, which is why you see different reactions.
