I agree with the numbers thing, like no offense to Bernie or O neil or whoever but have you looked at other teams retired numbers? They are reserved for ONLY the legends. Not players that arent even hall of famers. Shiiit a lot of hall of famers are not retired.

Truthfully we should prob only have retired Ruth, Gerhig, Dimaggio, Mantle and in this era Jeter and Mo. Maybe Munson cause of his tragic death.

Anything else is waayy to much. I love players like Donnie, Bernie, etc and I was initially like yeah retire their numbers but its getting way too ridiculous now.

The Latroy Hawkins thing was complete bullshiiit btw, pompous spoiled Yankees fans didnt even give the guy a chance because they were attached to the dynasty team.

Also, even though I like the move I cant believe Cashman keeps going back and dealing with the M's after they fuccked him over twice. Like just on principle you should not fuccck with them, nikkas reneged on a done deal and then gave you damaged goods. Cashman like an abused woman he keeps going back.

People retire numbers for a million different reasons. The only numbers that look rather funny up there are Reggie Jackson and Roger Maris. Other than that, so what? Everyone's standards are different.

pompous spoiled Yankees fans

You fit this description to a tee.

He did suck I was against the move but the reason for the booing is what got me. Booing just cause he sucked was fine but the whole hes wearing someones number like get over it

Agreed.

People are more attached to Oneill than Bernie though imo...if ichiro took 51 the outcry wouldnt have been as bad...and not even because Ichiro is a HOF'er himself.

Not sure I agree. When it looked like Bernie wasn't gonna fukk with us anymore people rediscovered their admiration for him.

This shyt could be like when Boggs went to the Yankees all washed up and shyt and then next thing you know, he was a three time all-star with them. Good move by the Yankees.

Yankees Lost, he done fell off. He's not a quitter either, he might give you 1 good season but he's on the major decline.

They just got a 10 time all star who still plays a good field and will benefit from change in ballpark alone. Sure he's way past his prime, but we're not looking to get that out of him. We just got another experienced veteran (Ibanez and Chavez), who can make noise on the base paths and gives us more depth. We lost Gardner from the year, this gives us flexibility to do more things.

We essentially just rented Ichiro Suzuki for two shytty prospects and $2 mil for the next three months as we make a push for the World Series.

Cashman and the Yanks won, you lost

Breh you are right, I'm mad about losing players the Mariners lost 10 years ago and losing a washed up Ichiro. In fact I'm so mad that I gave up caring about boring ass baseball a long time ago. It's a boring sport but I still know Ichiro is washed up. So bash the Mariners, I'd bash em too but I don't care enough. I just love hearing about the Yankees failing, which is what they will do again.

Oh and Griffey will always be the GOAT baseball player, be :umad: at the fact he wouldn't play for your fakkit ass franchise and rather finish his career back in rainy seattle. Real recognize real and I don't see you.

Its a good move cause he basically gonna be part of the bench rotation IF he doesnt hit along with Ibanez, Jones. Yanks bench is like they had during the dynasty right now. veterans who can still play (throw in Chavez) a little, Much better than what its been in past years with the Bubba Crosbys and Miguel Cairos.
