Was watching NY1 and they asked Eric Adams campaign manager what he expected numbers wise for turnout. He said 800 - 900K. There are like 6.5 million people eligible to vote in NYC. People have given up on politics and we really can't blame them.

You have to be old enough and a democrat to vote in the democratic primary so your math is wrong. There is around 3.7 million registered dems in nyc and 800 - 900k gives us the highest turnout since 1989. Yea most people didnt vote but turnout is slightly higher normal for the primary.

New stations are running stories about individual crimes 24/7 and nyc has become super politicized. If you watch a lot of tv it is reasonable to think nyc is the most violent city in America.

Nah they have been wilding there was a year NYC went over a month without a murder. Like NYknick said the cops are on a slow down and aren’t doing shyt. They did the same thing during Dinkins administration and we’re seeing it again. With a cop in charge I expect them to go back to work…. The thread Adams has to string is they cant be a bunch of open racist. They are going to have to use data to show shyt is about crime and not skin color. He’s hinted as much in a few of his speeches.

Couple of cops I know openly say they are pretty much on a strike.

I can't even count how many people I had to check at work when they say crime is up because 'police was defunded' :mjtf:

Pretty much. My girls parents have lots of friends in the NYPD and they openly told them that there is a work slow down and to be careful. People blame the bail reform shyt. But folks are too lazy to realize that cops across the country do this to discredit the BLM movement. NYPD officers hate criticism and throw bytch fits when there is protests. This is their way of saying "without us there would be chaos." The NYPD is a broken institution that needs serious reforms. Ending qualified immunity and break up police unions is a solution but realistically I dont see that happening.

It's not even that. It's that the ones who have seen it know nobody is gonna do much about it. The ones who run for office act like crime just blew up now. It's been here forever. Yeah there's tape now, but I saw Eric Garner get choked out to death by cops and the guy who recorded it got sent to jail. The people just don't care anymore.

I'm more worried about who's gonna replace Ruben Diaz as BX Boro Prez
Antonio Reynoso won Brooklyn Borough President and I don’t even know who the fukk that is. That result is crazy but he won by a landslide
:ohhh:
Edit: Ok he got endorsed by WFP and Make the road those fukkers show up heavy during primaries.

Eric Adams isnt well liked in the NYPD. His history of speaking out against the NYPD has made him alot of enemies in the force. So even with him as mayor I expect alot of the same issues with DeBlasio happening to him. When the next police brutality case arises(because its the NYPD of course they will kill another unarmed black man:francis:) Adams will be wishy washy. He will say he stands with the NYPD but if he mentions any criticism there will be another slowdown.

His ads were very powerful I have to say. You can relate to him because he showed his family.

All I really want for Adams is to force the NYPD to recruit at predominantly black schools like Medgar Evers college and York college, plus recruit more in the hood. I have no problems with the NYPD I just hate it’s so white.

I hope Wiley or Garcia can somehow pull it off. I hope Yang moves to Florida.
Isn't it a wrap? The ex cop bout to win. Ppl forget how much minorities hated Guliani, yet he was beloved in NY cuz it was perceived he was tough on crime.

Yup. It's the one-two punch of Dermot Shea everyday on NY1 blaming bail reform and Cuomo in press conferences crying about defund the police. While spineless Bill de Blasio twiddles his thumbs and is setting progressives back for at least 10 years.

Eric Adams winning pretty much guarantees that zero police reform will be enacted for foreseeable future.

And like you said in your other post, NYPD doesn't like him either. If there's a slight hint of criticism NYPD jumps on it immediately, they're like the NRA.
