I think Evil Morty is an eventuality type deal. No matter what, a Rick's lack of fukks given will always put his Morty in mortal danger or at the very least, leave him emotionally scarred and damaged beyond repair.

I also think that Rick not being a fan of Time Travel is because at some point he tries to go back in time and then realizes that it is his fault and that no matter what he does, Evil Morty is destined to occur, hence him mentioning that a cocky Morty can lead to problems.

That shyt hit me a little different because it mirrored a horrible relationship decision in my mid 20's that Ma Dukes warned me about and I all but told her to fukk off.
