Y’all think rappers should be required/enthusiastically encouraged to donate more of their money to the communities they got rich off of??

…and before you say “You can’t tell people what to do with their hard earned mon…”, that’s cool, of course you can’t, I’m asking should they…Shouldn’t they??? Shouldn’t they want to? What type of person are you to not if you’re a billionaire or anywhere even in the vicinity? I mean donate in excess too, not just some PR little ish. These dudes could really change the world if they pooled them massive, insane resources and dollars and tried to change things.

I just saw a headline of Jay-z wearing an 8 million dollar watch and everybody in the comments is on some “😲😎 Jayz is the man yo!!!” timing…that’s fine…but I’m sure a lot of them commentators are taking the city bus to work at GameStop or sumn today…they don’t even make enough to have a car and an apartment and live relatively comfortably as an employed US citizen, which is disgusting…but they have the time to marvel at Jayz’s watch. Give me 100-500 million and superstardom and a worldwide platform…damn near every time you see me or hear me speak it’s gonna be on some bettering the lives of the people/my people shyt, not just some light in the ass positive quotes and sound bytes…you’re gonna see tedious effort. Not because I have to…because I want to. How couldn’t you? 🤮

Jayz has every right to buy what he wants, don’t get me wrong…but what is he doing to better the lives of others with those billions of dollars? Not just him…all the super duper Up Up dudes who made a career for themselves broadcasting and, more often than not, glamorizing, the impoverished and fukked up and violent and miserable communities they came from and what they had to do to survive/eat in those conditions, etc… If anyone should want to give and help fix that until they’re tired it should be them…no? Like wtf are these guys doing for real? SMH.

Or is empathy and wanting to help Yours some corny shyt…because it’s their money and they can do whatever they want with it and y’all will still deify these guys because they’re cool? 🤷🏽‍♂️. If so that’s what up…I’m just asking how yall feel about it.

Pocket watching is disgusting

you have no idea what these people do to give back unless it's publicized :camby: that's ya first mistake, you have no research into this, every time IVE HEARD people speak on roc nation they say it's filled with family and extended family of that man, shyt ain't gotta be televised.

The man out here tryna leave black footprints in multiple industries, heavily involved in prison reform as well, but it doesn't make the headlines often enough for you :francis:

Sounds like your problem has more to do with journalism.

And no, just because someone gets successful does not mean every person that knows them or is from the same place is entitled to piece of their success, if YOU want to do that then fine, but telling someone else how they should move with what they earned themselves is pathetic, put your hand out towards your parents, people who are morally obligated to help you, not some guy you don't even know just because y'all was born in the same area and he's rich now:russell:famous people be out doing philanthropic shyt all the time, but nikkas like you demand that they gotta save world and film it at the same time just so you feel better

Everyone ain't gonna make it in this world and trying to care for everyone just gets you taken advantage of

And you coulda used a WAY better example than one man, like say, the NBA alumni. Tons of retired guys with hundreds of millions in the bank just chilling, hanging out doing podcasts and creating loaded AAU teams to demolish other kids

But nah, let's put this on rappers, people who've historically been fukked out of their true value and money since it's inception, those are the pocket you wanna run? :snoop:they already getting extorted by the industry and extorted by run of the mill gangs in every major city they visit.

Lol at having sympathy for a bunch of dudes that push degeneracy and products to line their pockets. Can wear $400,000 Richard Mille watches at parties with billionaires but won't do anything substantial for the community that raised them.

U cool with this...

It's easy to say what somebody should do with a million dollars when you don't have a million dollars. When you get to that level you become gradually more disconnected from anything beyond your immediate surroundings and your mindset becomes about growth and maintenance

Brehs, if I were in Drake’s position everytime I touched ground in a city the drastic improvement on quality of life alone would let you know I was there. I would uplift entire neighborhoods from their predicament. I see a lot of y’all living in disaster anyway so when I come through it’s gonna be like the impact of FEMA, except I’m not only there to help when something goes wrong … I’m just there for ya

Support me brehs, so I can support you :youngsabo:

You can make that argument for people in the hood struggling buying nonsense. But I do agree with OP if your one of these rappers spitting pro black conscience AND you making a bag? Jayz,Kendrick,Jcole, crypto scarface. Donate money, time, little bit of both.

I'd be surprised if the majority of rappers have enough money to even care past their immediate family.

the amount of rappers in that 100-500 million range or whatever you listed is probably marginal.

I'm also not one for just writing blank checks to organizations. there's 2 much corruption in the world.

I fukk with snoop Dogg. he did all those football programs. that would be more my speed. touch the soil get your hands dirty and really change lives. I'd actually feel something 2. writing blank checks would do nothing for me.

How many times do we see reports of rappers pretending to have this money?

The jewelry be fake or rented out, the cars be borrowed from the label, they usually end up in debt for this shyt, we KNOW this by now man.

The community that raise them had them doing the bullshyt in the first place :mjtf: these dudes start rapping because THEY wanted to, not because of the community.

Where are all these stories of the community turning nikkas into rappers and them blowing up? :patrice:half the time the shyt still is surrounded by drugs and gun violence and most end up falling victim to it in these same communities.

Like I said before, begging people for what they have is pathetic and doesn't do shyt for anyone in the long run. But nah, let's let reformed street nikkas be responsible for the economy in our neighborhoods :mjlol: y'all nikkas man...

How about you just work to help take care of your own family and pass those morals down  shyt will work out better for you

Nah these nikkas believe rapper DuckTales about their riches

These nikkas believe rappers have real economical foresight to even know where to send that money to have an impact forreal. Trust all the foundations :blessed:

:mjlol: their whole logic reeks of shortsightedness and desperation, 2 things that will have you continuously fukking up in life

The discipline snoop teaching those lil brehs will go further than sending 50k to a random foundation and hoping it trickles down to them properly
