Y'all think Jay didn't like how Dame essentially got Cam and Dipset who were from Harlem?

Cam told the story but from what I can remember it was two things that kinda set shyt off between Cam and Hov.
1. When Cam got there, Hov was having problems with Kay Slay. Hov told Cam to watch his self around Slay. Being that that's Cam's people, it rubbed him the wrong way.
2. Dipset was doing their thing and Hov was initially supportive, regardless of the Slay problems. But Hov already kinda had one foot out the door so when Dame made the announcement about Cam being VP, he was pretty much done.
According to Bleek, the plane incident was when Hov was officially done.

Jay signed off on Dipset coming to the Roc that wasn’t the problem. Jay didn’t like how Dame made Cam a Vice President while he was on vacation recovering from Ether burning his soul. Thats what started the tension.

Since '95. Everyone who worked at the office, and ran with the crew were basically from Harlem. Since the very beginning. So Cam and them signing wasn't anything new. At all.

If you listen to the cam drink champs the way he breaks down everything it pretty much boiled down to dipset vs State property. Jay brought in state property and Dame brought in cam/dipset. State property were lazy as fukk vs Cam who just gut of being shelved at another label and got to Rocafella and started going hard and creating dipset. He even explains the whole VP situation/rap city beef with Beans.

Definitely not as many as Harlem people.
Brooklyn was outnumbered. Hip Hop, Biggs, Darien, Gary, Lenny, Dame, and all their people...Harlem and Bronx. That's how I got there, lol. But there were Brooklyn people too, but we used to always joke back then that Roc was a Harlem label.
