I'm not giving up bacon, which I don't eat that regularly anyway, because one country can't regulate its own food production. The issue is the lack of regulations on butchering and selling meat, not the food itself.
As for pork killing you, yeah, but so will red meat, and people still eat too much of that as well.
COVID-19 is really a story of why laissez-faire capitalism is bad; don't regulate the markets and they will make money any way they can at the cost of your health.
