Regardless, that was a black male lead, so I stand corrected. Now that makes TWO within the span of a decade.
Balance/Stability is not what is wanted in this industry, just the two extremes. And I'll not argue for either side. I'm sick of cac leads and I'm already sick of these LGBT ass leads, too. Though I'll be brutally honest and say that I've seen black people portrayed in a worse light in all the new age progressive shyt that's been coming out.
Unless they are legit looking to strike a balance of representation, and FAVORABLE representation at that, black ppl should not have a dog in this fight.

Naw, the guy had his memory erased and was being hunted by a girl (he didn’t know it was his daughter) and he kinda threw some lines at her jokingly, not knowing, but after he remembered, that was the end of it.

I get it. Black hetero male representation is low. And i talked about this with the new ND game.
I don’t have a problem with the character per se. But when they put a non-white man in a game, they seem to try to make the character a bit of everything to the point where they come out generic on the other side.
With that said, i’ll take a gay black person over middle aged white guy anytime.
Looking forward to south of midnight. Seems the game is drawing on real black culture for the first time i can think of in a AAA game. Not just a character with black skin.

It's not just gay black folks. My post wasn't even focusing on the lead from ND's new game, but the simple fact the industry goes from one extreme to another. Straight white cacs to all LGBT everything. But when they put black folks in a game, there damn near is always a caveat. I'm playing Days Gone now and I got two black characters that aren't in black/black relationships, and one is a lesbian. The other one lusted after the white male lead's white wife. They think black representation in gaming equals IR relationships and LGBT relationships. They make us the posterchildren for that shyt and I'm fukking tired of it. At this point, I'd rather take a non-human lead, as they could be a template for anything. That or a create a character. Either way, if we can't be put in a game in a favorable light, leaves us tf out of it. I'm done with scraps.
Just watched some footage of South of Midnight, and I'll probably cop that on Steam if it passes the sniff test. shyt, I'll probably let you play through it first and tell me if it's got anything problematic in it, but it looks good on the surface.
