ive seen w/ my own eyes an in shape guy lose, or should i say seriously subdued, by and out of shape guy. just b/c you workout doesnt mean youre training for anything. theres alot of people who lift purely for aesthetics. id bet the majority of people actually.

Eh, this idea is overblown. This is like saying that there are some square looking players/macks in the world walking around picking up on all these women. While there are some the vast majority of people who can truly handle themselves look like they can handle themselves (or at the very least, give off that vibe). On top of that, a lot of folks who seriously train are pretty good at avoiding fights and deescalating situations so that it never gets to that point.
On top of that, there is always that great equalizer...
That's former UFC Heavyweight Champ Frank Mir. Dude can beat the dog shyt out of 99.X% of the population but rarely leaves the house without packing. Why? shyt, do you honestly believe a dude is going to scrap it up with a guy who is 6'3"+/225+? Trained or not, the average cat is looking for his boys or looking for that heat.

I know who Frank Mir is but showing him holding a SAW is completely irrelevant to what I'm talking about. I'm also a gun-owner and conceal-carry holder. I'm just saying on a very primal, evolutionary level, I think it's kind of pointless to have all that strength from the gym but not study the technical aspects like hand-to-hand combat.
In a true life or death situation, a firearm is always the best option, but you never know when you'll be compromised, even with your firearm.
