I know it feels weird giving Stroman the IC Belt but you gotta build him with belts along the way. He will absolutely win the Universal title and some point but Im guessing maybe a back and forth programme with Roman

Braun has been built bigger than the IC belt for a long time. It's beneath him and isn't gonna do anything for him. He's not the traditional workhorse that's going to be doing segments and matches every week on Raw ala Miz or a an even better candidate in Elias.

He's already been booked as the biggest legitimate threat to the Universal Champ in years and is believable as a true main eventer, so there's no reason to put him on ice by demoting him when there aren't any guys who can fill that role.

At that point, the two most over new guys on smackdown were Batista and Mr. Kennedy while raw had edge who had just wrapped up his feud with Cena and Jeff Hardy. Can’t go with king booker since he’d also just finished a feud with Batista. The options for young guys that year were limited.

I know it's the stubborn booking but the half assed efforts from the champion aren't helping either. His whole title reign has held back Miz, Finn Balor, and Strowman even before the Road to Wrestlemania. Most of his one on one matches have been either bad or average. The main event scene will be much better off with him gone. It doesn't matter if Crock held the title for 1 year or 1 month. Roman is still getting booed out of the building at Wrestlemania. Especially if they're dumb enough to let him win the Royal Rumble AGAIN.

Yeah I understand where you’re coming from. He didn’t have to hold it this long and it was obvious he let off the gas at points. But Vince and co are all in on Roman it seems cause those guys did deserve runs with the belt.
