Eh. Thought it would be about a guy who really had a hustle mentality or at least one that was steady scheming with all the talk in the beginning about being an entrepreneur. Instead, dude was just an empty headed fool for the most part just happy to have a job. Wasnt until the other drivers put him on game 3/4ths through the movie that he started hustling. Didnt even send money home with his family then did what he did knowing it would get them killed. Dude was lame

That was the point. That in societies like India, the only way to hustle is to be on demon time :demonic:

One thing I realized watching the movie:
Also, either be a bad guy, or a revolutionary.

Trying to be a "good guy" like Ashok that tries to play both sides of the defense never works. His girl left him, his family doesn't respect him, and he got murked by his servant despite being the nicest to him

the ether
Got put on this movie by a friend who I didn't think would ever watch an indian film in his life. Watched it the very next day off the strength of the surprise. They nailed this shyt.

For those who are saying Bollywood - it's not Bollywood. That's why there's no songs or over-the-top acting. The writer of the original book was a westernized Indian as are the producers, it was made by Netflix with a non-Indian director. There's definitely a more international sensibility to it than you see in Bollywood and they delve into shyt about the indian condition that would never fly in india.

This doesn’t look bad but I’d prefer if it was a movie.

Yeah this was a solid movie. Really enjoyed it.

Whole world of movies out here if you enjoy films with subtitles.

If it wasn’t a slow year cause of covid, I don’t think it wouldve gotten this much attention tho.

‘response to your spoiler....

. I agree. his issue was that he wasn’t an entirely nice guy. Dude legit came home to bribe politicians, while claiming to be a good guy. :mjlol:

If you eliminate this portion of his life, then none of the bad events of the film would’ve occurred to him.
