Me and my mother been chopping it up about this for a good year , and we're definitely boutta do that . shyt feels crazy dwelling these streets with a name provided to you from slavery , how the fukk the vast majority of nikkas walking around with an European last name smh shyt is evidence that we have damn near zero sense of identity. We haven't come to a conclusion what we want to change it to yet though but we def in the process of doing so . This thought ever come through ya heads before ?

When I was in middle school, there was this white kid who had the same last name I did. I didn't pay any attention to it, until some cats in my class noticed our names were the same and let me know it could very well be a possibility his ancestors owned mine. I never looked at that white boy the same and its been on my mind here and there to have it changed.....

Me and my wife were at the Sams Club not too far from where we lived a couple of years ago and were browsing over some shyt in the electronics section. This black DirecTV rep comes over and asks us about our tv service, yada yada and shyt. While talking to him for just 10 seconds, he immediately asks me "Where you from?". I said I live in Tyrone and shyt, but he was like "NAH, where you FROM?" I'm looking at this nikka like :dwillhuh: , but I reply that I'm from Charleston SC (my wife as well). He was like, "Yeah, I know, I could tell from your accent". Now my wife and I's geechie accent isn't heavy at all but he immediately picked up on it (pretty amazing honestly considering I've been accused from being from a variety of areas around the country). Anyway, we start talkin about life and shyt back home compared to the A and where we went to high school and shyt. Apparently this cat's cousins (1st) went to school with us in high school. Just crazy shyt.

He then tells us of a story where this older white couple came into the Sams and he was trying to get them to cop DTV. The lady notices the cat's last name is Seabrook and replies that it was her maiden name and she also grew up in the Charleston Area. He immediately replied to her that her great grandfather's name was William Seabrook or some shyt and she was stunned asking him how he knew. He told her that basically his family was from her great grandfather's plantation and shyt. He said that woman was so stunned to the point that she immediately cried and hugged him. As crazy as it was, they were pretty much family. A very crazy and surreal experience for both of them he said. Talk about coincidence of them running into each other.

He said she and her husband copped the highest package from DTV that day on contract. She even keeps up with him and shyt :laff:

Heed Breed.
My name was already changed by my great grandfather :blessed:. He added an "H" in the original name. Now if someone has that last name its 1000% fam bam. :ohlawd:

In fact, my great grandfathers brother did the same, but with a different twist. So at family reunions we got the family name spelled three different ways. :lolbron:

The way he described it, he was looking at her the whole time on some :mjpls:

"Guess what I know about you" type steeze. If I'm not mistaken I think he even said that William Seabrook was HIS great great great great grandfather or some shyt.

Even though my last name is of European origin, it is so unique that anyone with my last name is family

Man thats how it is, I want to College in Sav so I seen that Geechie for real lol. My girl did an ancestry.com test and saw some White person was listed as a 2nd or 3rd cousin, then dude messages her all excited about how they ere related and blah blah blah and whole time she is like :scust:, because essentially his great great grandfather or whatever raped and or owned my girls ancestral grandmother :mjcry:.

Now I`m 100% African, and when I did my Ancestry test it found a bunch of people who were 5th cousins or more and all I can think of was "damn my ancestral grandmother/father were the ones who got away :mjcry:".
