This joint will definitely influence & uplift alot of young cac's & teenage african american hipster's with strong fervor :obama:

Alot of these kids is really dealing with deep depression especially the socially awkward kids, street kids, young lbgtq kids & the fatherless :to:

This may end up a modern day classic for his base :lupe:

Yes its extremely caccie but i respect the artistry bigly:manny:

How is this a hip hop album?
:troll:
Because a black person made it and we
all know Black people only make Hip-Hop.
:troll:

It's not rock and it's barely Hip-Hop. If anything this album is a poorly written R&B album with trite lyrics about "depression" and "suffering". Literally feels like I'm listening to the audio equivalent of

www.reddit.com/r/im14andthisisverydeep

Oh and that intro where he sounds like he's speaking into a laptop mic with no pop filter = cringe worthy.

I can't be impressed with writing about depression if you can't at least take a few lessons from Joe Budden or Biggie.

Also does anyone else hate the mixing on this album ? There are times where I genuinely cannot understand the kid because his vocals are too low ! And the other elements drown him out.

I met a 17 year old this past summer who was smitten with this dude.
And frankly this sounds like music that would blow a 17 year olds mind.
The turn up/hype tracks I first heard were cool but this here ?
Laughable especially if you wanna charge people for it.

Nah some of yall hating unecessarily, take this song for instance

Its a good song but his raps are try hard as fukk. He doing too much and sounds like it. Very rock album too, dude is more rock then hiphop. Alrernative emo rock or something of that nature :ehh:

They're calling it trash strictly because basically its a rock album about deep depression with only him rapping on 1 or 2 songs

If anything this album displays his talent & versatility more than anything
Yeah I look at it that way too. This album is a rock album and I respect his talent but tbh this is not my kind of music personally.

If im listening to rock ill listen to Modest Mouse, Phoneix or Green Day. Im real picky and dont like too much rock.

Orlando is epic though and again he is real talented but these tracks are just not my thing.

Rap fans give way too much credit to rappers when they try and fail at doing something different.

Thats how Kid Cudi been getting passes despite his last couple albums being trash.

It's like y'all grade them on an OD curve just cuz it's "out of the box."

This shyt is a horrible emo rock album with some rapping sprinkled in.

If he was a rock artist it would be bad too, the quality in the music just not here.

You buggig passion pain and demon slaying was hard and this was actually good for that genre of music to keep it real.

It's not a rock album, having a guitar in your music does not make it rock.

If anything it's R&B where the
artist handles all the rap features.

I like Rock, hell I like Metal and other shyt
that's called "Demonic" on here and I'm a long time fan of Atmosphere and Joe Budden so depressing self deprecating lyrics in Hip-Hop aren't new to me.

There's no wit here, hardly any depth, and from where I'm sitting it's looking like directionless teen angst that only seems original when he's compared against his peers.

Put him up against lower tier rappers like Wale or Big Sean and his skill set as
a rapper starts looking inadequate.
Put him up against singers and that falsetto he keeps abusing just seems "ok".
Put him against Cobain whom he wants to be so bad and again dude starts look really regular or really mediocre.

It's a Grunge Rock inspired take on Urban music that I think someone would do better if they had a considerably wider world view and a much better pen game.

Off first album this album has impressed me.
I was expecting a bunch of odd future'ish trash noise but this is very creative, melodic, musical.
