I actually agree. The game looks more like a WRPG than a JRPG.
I do wish there was a little more emphases on co-op play, but this game gives me PSO dreamcast vibes.
This shyt is essentially an offline MMO full of mindless fetch quests. No thanks, Jeff.
This is what happens when developers takes risk and change the formula. There are gonna be a lot of people that pick this game up and want it to be like all the other Xeno games and it's not. This isn't the game I wanted it to be but I'll judge it for the game it actually is instead of what I wanted.
Should not have called it Xeno then (same for Chronicles). I understand the name decision from a business perspective however.
And there's a reason those games often fail outside of Japan.
And what's the reason? A strong emphasis on story is why most people play JRPGs. When the story is some kiddie anime shyt (Tales, Ni No Kuni, etc.) no one gives a shyt. But when it's a quality story (Xenogears, FF6, FF7, Valkyrie Profile, Suikoden, Xenosaga) people take notice. Square Enix has a monopoly on the genre and hasn't released a quality title in years. People have given up on the genre.
Meh. I need a JRPG with a great story and fun, flowing pacing.
Don't we all.
