what are they for explain please share the knowledge?85 hours in and I just NOW found out what those orbs that float around the enemies are for

The Manslayer
They set up elemental bursts when you do chain attacks. That allows you to keep the chain attack going for more turns to keep the damage multiplier going. .
You don't get chain attacks until chapter 3
Yo...there's a Legendary Core Crystal in Olethro Ruins! 
It's in the same area where "that fight" happens....I don't want to be too specific due to spoilers but if you go back after the fight, and walk up in the stands (because the area kinda looks like an arena) there's an altar looking thing with a white treasure chest behind it. You need Lock Picking Lv. 2 to open it but you should have that relatively early in the game.
It gave me a generic Blade though. Maybe you guys will have better luck.
Also there's a spot in the Leftherian Archipelago I want to see if anyone knows about....I gotta take a pic though. It's on one of the islands, there is a vines you can climb leading up but I don't see a way to access them.

Tryna do this side mission but gotta kill these 2 level 25 frogs but can't beat them.
Just did a few side missions, leveled up a few, got 20k in gold, explored more areas and refined a few aux cores

Not to spoil anything but 100% do not use overdrive to move blades to Rex. I won't say why but it's not a good idea

Pressing X now will take you to fast travel of the actual area you're in thank God
Also, the overlay map when you click in the left stick has been drastically improved. It's much smaller now, much easier to see where you are and where you're going
