There's people trying to "debunk" this(Sounds like damage control imo) but a few have commented saying it's hot. It's not going to burn your house down or warm up your leftovers but it's hot according to some.
It's pre-release hardware but it's not "bullshyt" as to a few journalists saying it's hot.
People again lack nuance when talking about this. They'll claim that "of course it's going to output heat, that's how electronics work!" which isn't what people were disputing. Some folks said it's a bit hot, a journalist claims it burnt their hand(figurative language), some stans latch on to say the Series X is a convertible air fryer and then butt hurt fanboys quickly chime in with counter tweets by Aaron Greenberg and Tom Warren to "debunk" something.
tl;dr
Jokes got some people upset. Should be no more serious than PS5 being as wide as the Japanese dude's torso.
