This gen is already over as well, PS5 is on pace to set records while Switch 2 is going to come out and lap yas.

Next gen if they even put out another console instead of trying to push gamepass everywhere else (So compete with Steam on PC, be an EA Access on PS/Switch) is at best going to be another 360. But to even come close to winning you need Sony and Nintendo to drop the ball at the same time and release like early PS3 and Wii U and even if that happened, the rest of the world don't like Xbox like that.
