Xbox One requires day one patch (15-20 min DL)

The Xbox One will require a day-one patch, and that update will take between 15 and 20 minutes "for most users," Microsoft chief platform architect Marc Whitten told IGN.

"We are optimizing Xbox One so that the day-one update is as fast as possible. While we're still finalizing the details, we expect that the download will take between 15 and 20 minutes for most users," Whitten said.

It is not clear what the specific purpose of the patch is, though a Microsoft representative said in June that this update will "accommodate the differences between hardware and software manufacturing schedules."




Hopes the PS4 not having a day one patch. Feel kinda bad for the kid opening his xmas present. Only to find out he cant play it because mommy & daddy didnt pay the internet bill

Link? You Sony don't talk about negatives. They will do what they always do. Sit on the info and wait until 3 days before launch and say we have a mandatory update that will add more functionality to the system. And sony fans be happy because Sony is taking care of them.

In the end its a wash these consoles are being produce now and the firmwares are still being worked on up until and after launch.

Must be nice to just assume everyone has internet in their home. U have lived a good life sir to think like that.But come where im from, which is Detroit. I would think more are without than with. Parents are gonna bust they azz for their kid trying to get their kid a ps4, X1, or a WiU. Not because they could afford it. But just so their kid could be happy as hell on xmas.
