Seems like Microsoft is following the PS Plus model in the end :patrice:

A total of 41 games are now available only through Game Pass Ultimate for new subscribers, including the aforementioned Modern Warfare 3, Starfield, and Diablo 4 but also Forza Motorsport, MLB: The Show 24, Octopath Traveler 2, Payday 3, Age of Mythology: Retold, and more. The full list is available below, courtesy of ResetEra user vixolus who collated the list.

Players subcscribing to Game Pass Standard therefore have access to 370 games instead of 508, according to the Xbox website. The remaining 96 titles belong to the EA Play library, which is not included in Xbox Game Pass Standard. Players looking to access this additional library of heavy hitters will need to pay $19.99 a month for Ultimate instead of $14.99 a month for Standard.

Doesn’t this validate jim ryan saying that gamepass wasn’t sustainable for them?
hmm, this a bit tricky. It's sustainable in a sense if you've reached a certain benchmark in subs. Then gamepass is a brilliant move, but if you don't then hmmm. For example if Microsoft had a bigger install base and were able to hit 50 million subs. Then I don't think you could scoff at them generating $9billion paying subscribers. I think even at a number like 40million subs on pc gamepass and gamepass ultimate would be very good becuase that's still $7billion. The problem lies is market rejecting Xbox and WIndows store, so they most likely won't hit those benchmarks to make gamepass a brilliant move and most likely doesn't help that they're bringing their games to Playstation and Nintendo.
