"It's a bit of a change of strategy. Not announcing anything broadly here, but our mission is to bring our first-party experiences [and] our subscription services to every screen that can play games," Stuart said. "That means smart TVs, that means mobile devices, that means what we would have thought of as competitors in the past like PlayStation and Nintendo."

That’s a direct quote from him. We want to bring Game Pass to everything with a screen. Directly mentioned PlayStation.
The actual full quote

"It's a bit of a change of strategy. Not announcing anything broadly here, but our mission is to bring our first-party experiences, our subscription services to every screen that can play games, That means smart TVs. That means mobile devices. That means what we would have thought as competitors in the past, like PlayStation and Nintendo. We're going to Nvidia's GeForce Now, their gaming subscription service.

Furthermore, Gamepass isn’t even their only subscription service. Dude never even mentioned gamepass. You stan’s wrote that in.

Video games writers know you console stan’s butter their bread. IGN added the “and” and cut the quote short of the example he gave so they could write that dumb ass headline and get you goofies to run around sharing their story :mjlol:

They aren’t putting gamepass on Nvidia Geforce now. He’s talking about getting their games to whatever screen however it makes sense for said screen.

Sony stan’s and writers wanting clicks from you goofies changed the context of his comments in order to run with this dumb shyt…..as usual :smh:

No. Call of Duty is a Microsoft first party game that sells many millions of copies on PlayStation. They not gonna want to give up those sales. No Game Pass in any form on PlayStation unless forced.
Yeah, they'll allow gamepass, but not in it's current form. It will be similar to EA play where it's old library of games, and then games enter 6-12 months after release. It's just that they wouldn't include COD unless very old version, but they might put a game like Diablo on it due to potential microtransactions. This would all be hypothetical if they were to leave hardware business and become third party like many are saying

Remember sony fought against EA Play.

They reluctantly allowed it, but that was before they really wanted to grow their own subscription service. Gamepass is to close of a competitor to PS+ for them to put the service on their consoles.

Beside that, Microsoft has Zero incentive to try to get gamepass on playstion. Every playstation owner right now has a device that can access gamepass. As cloud gaming becomes more common and accepted through things like the PS portal, people will access gamepass through whatever device they want. No need to come up with some gimped version of gamepass and probably overcharge for it and give sony a huge cut.

All of this is just wishful thinking from sony stan’s that think playstation is more important than it actually is. Just in the story that spawned this thread, dude explained that there are about 100 million playstation players and 1 billion players outside of playstation. Now why in the hell would microsoft spend any significant resources on trying to squeeze some of those loyal customers from playstation when they can reach for Billions??

Dudes whole perspective is “console warz” not reality :smh:
I think the whole thing is Microsoft of course wants to be on more platforms, but they're of course not going to want to give up 30% cut to Sony. Plus, it's all wishful thinking because why would Sony F up their own money by allowing gamepass? A service like gamepass in it's current form would hurt Sony on their platform because that is money lost on PS+ imo. I think it's obvious that both Nintendo and Sony wouldn't want gamepass on their respective platforms because it would cannibalize sales. Sony for example makes most of their revenue from third party sales, so why would they want to disrupt that by having gamepass?

Microsoft is doing great selling games like Minecraft, ESO, COD, etc on Playstation. They can make that money on sales and PS owners still access Gamepass through their PC, Smart phone, Tablet, Steam Deck, TV, etc.

It literally makes zero sense for either party to put gamepass on playstation.

Yeah, the only platform it would make somewhat sense to put it on would be Nintendo, but switch 2 seems like it will be getting third party support. I think Microsoft will continue strategy of putting live service multiplatform, but other games will be exclusive. I think the CFO saying the stuff he did is just him having wishful thinking since a corporation goal is maximize revenue, but putting games on Playstation would F up Microsoft's revenue imo

It’s being reported very differently than what he actually said

He didn’t really say anything specifically about gamepass on nintendo and playstation.

He was just broadly talking about getting their content on those systems which they have already started doing.

I didn’t spin anything.

IGN is the one that added and removed things from his quote to get their headline.

Saying “microsoft wants their games and services on every screen that can play games” just isn’t spicy enough.

It wouldn’t have gotten hundreds of you stan’s to run out sharing the story to talk your dumb shyt.

Like i said these video games writers no exactly how to manipulate you goofballs :mjlol:

Minecraft has a subscription
ESO has a subscription

He clearly said “subscriptions” plural

Why are you guys so determined to remove context from what he actually said, and add your own?? :ohhh:

Yes, they are talking about all their subscription services, not the one they are basing their entire gaming business model around :dead:
