The creatives behind those series are gone. Jeff Strain and James Phinney moved on to make State of Decay, and Metzen retired IIRC...which is why you started seeing mad add on packs and DLC for years...blizzard lost of a lot of creativity and that hurt their innovative IP.

This may be true but I mean the groundwork was already there. You have tried and true established great games, there's no reason that entire generations of gamers should be going thru K-12 without playing a new installment of that game. It doesn't take a creative mind to realize that.
