Sony won't make the same mistake twice, they will price it accordingly and since the hardware will be easier to develop for, it's ports will be compared to the upgraded DVD player coming out this year.

PS4 will be in a paradigm of it's own. 720 or whatever won't be in the same league. The Steambox will be a better alternative to the nextbox because a PS4(for exclusives and reliability) coupled with a powerhouse of a PC packed into a tiny cube that's upgrade-able will be nice.

I don't know because Sony seems to be slightly behind this is probably because Sony are still a few more months behind the dev cycle to be honest.

Wishful thinking. It's been long said that Microsoft went to the developers and said, what do y'all want, then went to build it. Sony is getting off the shelf parts. I'll give you the exclusives as Sony has an awesome stable, right now, but specs? The next Xbox is going to be the GAWD console. Their vision and warchest is larger than Sony's. Microsoft has dumped money into dead end products for years, hoping to turn a profit. Can you imagine what is going to happen for a product line that actually makes money hand over fist. We will find out in a few months when the gaming fans go and Sony goes because Microsoft on them. No Bubba Sparxxx, but it's about to get ugly. Wouldn't surprise me to see the new Xbox sold less at retail than the PS4 either. I'll get both like I always do, but gaming is Microsoft's now and the new console will be a juggernaut. Sony is about to get curb stomped brehs.

This would be consignable but i don't get the hate. PC is still the easiest platform to dev for, so many tools, so much support, and optimization is damn near out the gate. This was PS3's biggest downfall.

And since both the 720 and PS4 will more than likely be close powerwise (even though Sony willl more than likely make sure it's stronger...they are a hardware company), their exclusives are the tiebreaker.

And shytty hardware. I think both companies have learned their lessons. MS won't release shytty hardware again, and there is no BluRay premium this time around for Sony. Both will have HUGE harddrives and DD will be in effect even moreso this upcoming gen. I still want/prefer physical media so I can recoup some of my bread when I'm done with a game.


IMO, it's basically what exclusives you want. If you prefer the Xbox exclusives, get a 720. If you prefer Sony's exclusives, get a PS4. If you ballin (or have a great girl), get both (I'll get my wife to get me a 720.... ).

Multiplats will be a wash. And we'll see the current DLC exclusive bullshyt.

Playstation owns the rest of the world outside of North America. Their exclusives are better as well. Sony won't get curb stomped again (in the states) unless they decide to price it at 600 again. Halo is already starting to fall off and Gears as well. One thing MS clearly needs to do is upgrade their first party games this upcoming gen. And I'm not talking about Kinect shovelware.

The people complaining about the ps3 tools were pc devs. Microsoft gave pc devs a lane to coup the video game industry with rehashed generic titles that the western world lawds as the standard of gaming. So sick of first person shooters. Thankfully though, its not the pc dev's that have made the best console games this gen. What downfall. PS3 is the top selling console in the world outside of north America which is pc heaven.
