Consoles are good if you can move A LOT of units....but you're usually selling them at a loss for a few years until you break even.
My guess is M$ recognizes they can make a lot more money focusing on software, PC etc., since they're not able to move the number of units that Sony and Nintendo can.
Honestly Nintendo needs to step it up because playing the same games over and over is boring as fukk.

This is the death throes of Xbox before the division is renamed Microsoft Gaming. This is where incompetent leadership got them. They've reached a point where the marketing slogan is literally you don't have to buy an Xbox to buy our games.
I still own a Series X to access any games I've previously bought from them but Xbox is dead to me and I've stopped actively following what they're doing these days. I'm man enough to admit that I was completely wrong about the direction they'd take. After hearing Nadella bemoan how they let Windows Phone die I thought they'd push harder to make Xbox a viable platform they control. I thought they'd get games out the door to make Game Pass a desirable service people other than bargain seekers wanted to sub to. Nah it's pretty obvious they've folded and whatever if left of their gaming division will be parts they purchased that others built and all their original stuff their incompetent leadership will have burned into the ground.

I actually thought bout copping a Series X this BF if it went down to $300 maybe $350. I was mad at myself I missed the sale they had for $350 for the Diablo 4 bundle awhile back
Now I’m not even seeing any sales for the Series X so I might give this a shot
