DARK PHOENIX Was Being Rewritten On A Daily Basis While The Cast Was On Set

Fox delayed the release of Dark Phoenixon multiple occasions and a combination of that and extensive reshoots made it clear early on that there were some serious problems with Simon Kinberg's movie.

Well, while we're bound to hear more about those issues in the coming weeks, cast members Sophie Turner and Jessica Chastain have now revealed that the writer and director was constantly rewriting the screenplay, something which doesn't exactly bode well for any big budget blockbuster

Simon and I would sit down for two hours every day and just comb through each page of the script,"Turner revealed, adding that "there was rewriting being done all the time." Why an actress with no history of writing movies would be invovled in that respect is hard to say and Chastain added that Kinberg would even go home and continue making changes.

"You could have a conversation and something comes from that and then the next morning, Simon would show up to work and say, 'hey, I wrote some pages that I think could be interesting for this direction we’re going.'"
Yikes :snoop:

I saw it Wednesday on IMAX when it premiered. The movie isn't bad IMO. It is definitely better than Apocalypse which isn't hard anyway, but iono, something was just missing.

Jennifer Lawrence is still annoying as usual, what you saw of Quicksilver in the trailers is all you get and Xavier is still a dikkhead who stays fukking up. Fassbender is an excellent Magneto though.

DOFP was the best out of the four, but generally the X-Men movies are never that good.

The year 3030
lemme preface and say I only seen the first X-Men and Logan, and most of my X-men knowledge is from the 90's cartoon (and their version of the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix Saga), and some of them other animated joints that dropped later...so my viewing is more or less as a stand alone movie...and with that said, thought it was :ld:. It felt like half a movie...like more of a build up to something grander...and I didn't feel any urgency about the situation.

any meaning/significance to the chess game at the end?

Good solid movie. Not special. Saw the same shyt with Venom to an extent. Villains could have been fleshed out more IMO.

that train scene was DOPE. Storm was infinitely better this movie. She improved greatly from Apocalypse. Wish we could keep Fassbender as Mags. He kills the role. I do hope that in the MCU that Scott will get his just due.

the chess shyt is Magneto and Charles thing that they do when in good terms. You say you watched the first movie but forgot the end of it? They played chess while Magneto was locked up in the plastic prison

An Apocalypse movie should had been build over several X-men films kind of like what MCU did with Thanos.

Phoenix storylines has always been a snooze fest to me. From the cartoons, to last stand to this one. Why keep trying to tell this story?

Besides us X-Men heads who grew up with this shyt, we gotta be honest.

Most people don't give a fukk about the characters besides Wolverine and dudes like Magneto.

Nobody gives a fukk about characters like Jean or Cyclops :mjlol:

But we always get these fukking Jean stories:hhh:

From the cartoons, to the movies, to the reboots, Jean's story always be the snooze fest.

former Jean (Famke Janssen) could get the pipe tho

Yeah, I do hope we get some new stories for the MCU. XCutioners Song would be dope or House of M (keep Elizabeth Olsen if they can for it)

But Age of Apocalypse on screen would be incredible done right :banderas:

This wasn't as bad as everyone says. It isn't trash like Origins or Apocalypse. However, this ish is bland AF. Fassbender was excellent, as always. McAvoy was solid, Hoult was cool, and the train sequence was dope, and probably the best action sequence for the new crop.

The problem is that you never really got to care for these characters, so anything that happens to Jean is:yeshrug:.

In my personal opinion I don't believe so.

I don't even think people from this generation fukk with Xmen like that in general tbh.

We grew up with Xmen how people are big on the avengers now
