I'm very iffy about producers switching to directing. Of course you got Matthew Vaughn as an example of it working but Vaughn made the jump very early in his career and with the exception of First Class has stuck closely to doing adaptations so he always knew the material was proven.

Hopefully the studio gets the memo. Logan is good, Legion is good, Deadpool is good..... maybe there's hope with this movie

They honestly should just focus on smaller movies though, let Disney and WB fight over who can up the anti for world ending events. If it was me, I would redo the franchise. I would set the movies in modern day and focus more on the individual characters...

Here come all the MCU fanboys acting like Deadpool and Logan weren't critical and commercial smashes for Fox

Perfect time to transition (pause) the team to San Francisco, establish Cyclops as the rightful leader of the XMen with a Genosha Indiana Jones themed adventure film, which will set up modern day, stand alone Xmen adventures.

You dont have to follow the comics exactly but lets see some generic action adventure movies starring a decent team of Xmen.

Run the John Wick play of assuming the audience is somewhat familiar with the Xmen and its Lore. It doesnt matter much just hint at something and it allows viewers to know that the comics flesh out a deeper story.

The continuity is so messed up that they need to start from scratch. Logan was the perfect way to close out the series with two of the characters and actors that have been in all the movies(Wolverine) or most(Xavier) dying. Reboot the franchise and set it in present with new actors.

I think they should have focused this next coming movie on the fall of the mutants leading up to Logan then end the series.

Logan left us wondering what happened to Magneto and the other mutants so if they did it right they could finish the story off perfectly.
