x-men is my second favorite super hero world behind batman so i'm gonna watch this. dark phoenix is one of my favorite comics so i hope they do it right. this trailer got me pumped for it.

What blows my mind is how far they go out of their way to sideline Cyclops as much as humanly possible. Dude's been the leader from Day 1 in the original comics and was a key player in nearly all of the best stories in the comics. Yet and still he's been an afterthought in nearly 20 years' worth of films. I don't think we've seen a single optic blast in any of the trailers. Even after Kinberg juelzed all about making THIS movie more accurate to the comics, Cyclops is the ONLY character on that trailer that isn't shown being a leader or doing ANYTHING dope in even ONE SHOT.
...besides Mystique, who apparently dies pretty early on and has been the focus of two and a half films at this point.
You saw Quicksilver, Storm, Beast, and Nightcrawler getting fight scenes, but not Scott. I can't wait for Disney's take on the X-men (it could come sooner than we think, I don't think Captain Marvel is a strong enough character to carry the MCU by herself to be honest). Even the cartoon Cyclops in the 90s got more shine than his movie counterpart.
Hopefully Kevin Feige will put some respect on my boy Cyclops' name.

Fassbender and McAvoy always give it their all for those 2 characters. I think MCU might snatch them for other roles later on, Fassbender as Silver Surfer or Galactus maybe? Honestly that dude has a lot of range you can cast him in a number of comic book roles
