They didn't give a shyt about my childhood so why now?

I dont know when your childhood was but they dang sure cared about mine. 80s babies had Junk Yard Dog, hillbilly jim, bret hart, british bulldog, hogan, face savage, warrior, all about the kids...and the product flourished...yes, you gotta cycle, but that model worked at the time, and they feel it will again.

IMO, the perfect model is as I described...have a kid's wrestling roster where guys like Cara and Kofi, and zach ryder, Santino, the dancing bears and other guys who are AWESOME for kids, really shine...plus the once in a blue moon cena match...if you have guys who are MADE for that show, there is nothing wrong with that and is great for the product.

They should segment raw, smackdown, slam, and me into different targets

Let raw be RUTHLESS AGGRESION minus the ridiculous headshots....let smackdown and ME be the workrate shows and slam be for the kids. Less saturation of stars, and a different product adding value to each show

ya if they did it that way i would be cool with that

I started watching wrestling around 88 so I remember all of that. By the time the attitude era came around I was like 12. But even in the 80s they had like the Road Warriors, the 4 horsemen who would jump Sting or Dusty Rhodes. It could be that they don't do a good job helping the newer wrestlers have bigger personalities.

Makes too much sense hence why they likely won't

Honestly, I might be odd for this but I prefer that era to the Attitude Era. I'd say the AE was definitely needed and I enjoyed the way they made the product reflect the crazy shyt going on during that time in pop culture... BUT that late-80s/early-90s era of WWF was just as good and didn't have all the over-the-top shyt in it. Even watching it now, it's still fun to look at and their product was definitely more aimed at kids. And that didn't mean they didn't have beatdowns and heels with an edgy feel to their characters... it just wasn't anything that a parent would see their kid watching and cut off. Nothin' wrong with that.

Naw...this wont work. All shows have a synergistic quality to them in that they are all housed under one company, and all bleed into each other. You cant have shows as completely different entities. That would be too expensive, and unwieldy to produce.

Financially its not justifiable...All brands would have to tour and have PPV's in order to justify production costs, because the shows cost money. Realistically, it makes even less sense. If you are going to market one show for kids, then what happens when a character thats popular on the kids show, graduates to the Raw adult brand? The kid will want to follow, which will expose him or her to an adult product...basically, there will be an overall natural curiosity for the young fan to follow the adult version, which will defeat the whole purpose of marketing to kids in the first place.

WWE is most comfortable marketing towards kids. Its good for their profile, with advertisers, and with the public at large. A clean product is mainstream. An adult product is problematic as a marketing entity. I dont think the WWE is willing to expose themselves to the PR headaches that the attitude era provided.

Basically, people are just going to have to accept that wrestling is for children. Even during the attitude era, the products were heavily marketed towards teenagers and young adults. Wrestling really isnt for fans 21 and over in the modern era.
