Multiple? This is the second. You make it sound like he's been feuding with Cena forever before that. Before his feud with Cena and the pipebomb promo last year he was jobbing to all the faces (Taker, Show, Rey, Orton etc) while staying consistently over enough to make his ascension to upper mid card/main eventer much more easier.

And as for "you can't try to create" any more ... have you seen Orton or Cena's pushes for the last decade? :childplease:

You can't create new stars if you keep telling the audience the current top guy is always gonna be your priority and that people from the previous era is much better, no matter how many titles you slap on them. (refer to Swagger for his WHC win, Del Rio for his RR, MITB and WWE title wins, etc)

But you already knew all this though ... but in case you really lost, breh ... I'm just tryna getchu' to see the large picture. :jawalrus:

He was feuding with Cena when he did the new Nexus angle too, that's 3 times. He was going over Jeff hardy in their feud, who was as over as a face as anybody mentioned.

He was mostly losing back then, but has been winning all the time for over a year now. Cena's matches might go on last on PPV, but Punk has been given no less screentime/focus/importance on Raw this last year, and without Rock or Brock their PPV numbers are terrible.

It's not the company that tells the fans that the new guys aren't as important, it's that they can't fool the fans that much. CM Punk looks like a joke in the ring with The Rock. Brock Lesnar comes in and gets more of a heel reaction after a couple weeks of segments than Punk and draws money on PPV because he's legitimately a MAIN EVENT wrestler.

Punk can have a better "workrate+mic skills/2" internet formula than a lot of guys, but he's not a star, just a good midcarder.
