They should take that mode more in a Tell-Tale direction. Where once a feud is started, there are literally 100 different ways for it to play out, depending on what actions or words you choose.
You could have a face start to act like a dikk in a feud, and and his fan reaction slowly goes negative, and if it hits over a threshold he becomes full heel.
The ability to become "friends" with like 3 other dudes, and if they all interact with each other in positive manners enough, they will form a stable.
It's alot of stuff they can do. The gameplay is as non-fun (in terms of previous wrestling games) as ever, so I get the most enjoyment outta the 2K versions from Universe and Editing/Creating shyt. This game going outta my rotation this week, copped during Black Friday sale half off.

It's not even a sports game that's "what more can they change year to year", so the sky is the limit if the developers can begin to grasp a little more what people want to get from playing a wrestling game. Looking forward to the next gen consoles that will drop in 1-2 years, as that will be a catalyst for alot of sports type games to try new shyt.
