It's gonna become impossible to put a good team (not even great, but good) together going ahead with this cba unless you hit a few grand slams in a row in the draft or all at once in free agency now

Developing players out of the D-League and having great late 1st Round and 2nd Round talent scouting are going to be major items going forward for all teams. Heat have shown they can do it so far with Whiteside, JRich, TJ. Hopefully it will get better yet but we all know Riley was never the type to advocate the draft and development style, at least not during his Heat tenure.

We have Justise locked in a cheap rookie contract for three more years. Estimated average salary for Justise is 3 mill a year. :lolbron:Whoever is Justise's free agent should get fire. :mjlol: That's going to be our major bargain if Justise grow to be a borderline all-star player or greater. :ehh: If Bosh comes back, it will make things even sweeter. Whiteside will be around for another 4 years and Dragic as well. We built a solid core. Pat just need the right pieces for cheap that will fit our core players. Like I said before all is not lost.

I agreed. The best move is to tap into the D-League to recruit players for cheap and develop them into role players that can fit well with our core players. The Heat isn't going anywhere. We can rebuild our resources while still competing in the playoffs. We will be alright in the next coming years.
My thing is this.. if we are not going to compete for a championship next year then why don't we just package dragic and mcroberts and save the picks??

That clears like 25 mill. Richardson is obviously the future at either the one or 2
We can get rid of McRoberts but not trade away Dragic. We still need him to compete in the playoffs to be attractive to free agents who are looking to join a title contender.

Yep he was a second round pick so they have shorter rookie deals and can be unrestricted free agents :snoop:, BUT there's a limit on what you can give them on their contract, they can't be maxed. That's why Jordan Clarkson only got $50 million

If we looking for cheap talent to groom, Spo ain't going nowhere. Dude is a great scout and talent evaluator.:francis:

It's weird to think we gonna transform from a team that constantly made huge splashes in trades and free agency to trying to pick up D-leaguers to hope they'll be good. :francis:

Which contract, 2 for 40?

Yeah. I understand a lot of money is getting thrown around in FA but it's just bad business sense to offer a 34-soon-to-be-35 year old with an injury history a huge contract. 2 year/40 mil honestly seems generous to me

if yall gonna be in here talking about this stuff, at least try to have ya facts straight brehs @Sauce Dab @havoc

Jrich is NOT an unrestricted free agent after next season. he's got 3 years left on his deal. 16-17 and 17-18 are both unguaranteed years, which means the heat get to decided if they want to pick those years up before each of the season starts. 2018-19 he would become a restricted free agent. same deal briante weber has.

Winslow's deal is on the rookie scale. his agent nor him or the team had any say in how much it is the 1st few seasons. its why some rookies don't even use an agent on their 1st contract anymore.
