All I'm saying we don't have room for Durant. Because of the little money we have left, we shouldn't waste our time chasing Durant. We just need to retool and pay Wade his money. I don't have a problem with Hassan earning the max contract because he deserves it. He has proven that he is worth the money. However, we overpaid Bosh. I believe Pat could have kept Bosh if he had offered a similar deal that Houston was offering Bosh. I didn't have a problem with Dragic receiving the max because at that time he was one of the top point guard in the league, but he didn't give us a consistent effort in return.

Remember its a base 5.6 m the first two years then jumps up in years 3 and 4. So I'm guessing around 18 mil a year beginning in year 3

That rule is dumb. The Nets would pay him $12M per year and the Heat have to pay around $18M+ in years 3 and 4. The gamble would be matching it and hoping that he improves so much that he's worth that contract in years 3 and 4 so that worst case they can trade him then.
