I'm a bit nervous about the reports that the Lakers and Mavs want WhiteSide .

Both teams can lure him away by Just telling him they will build around him. Which they would be. WhiteSide thinks he's a franchise player deep down and the bright L.A. lights and Cuban's desperation might cloud his judgement.

With us here knows he's no higher than option number 3 on offense.

The Oklahoman interviewed NBA agents on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of speaking about another agent's client. According to reputable agents who've gone through the process in the past with star players, Durant may already have his mind made up.

“A player in Durant's situation is totally unique,” said one agent. “He is more anticipating seeing the pitches from other teams just because he wants to.”

Even if Durant knows what he wants, leading up to free agency, his agent is attempting to determine which markets will be good for his player, which teams have true interest in him. There's no shortage of suitors.

Another agent thinks, in the case of Durant, the club that wants to pry him away from the Thunder “needs to be a good team, in a better market with a better chance to win than OKC.”

“So Golden State and Miami become the only real players,”
the agent said. “It's too hard to justify a move to Los Angeles (Lakers) or New York because they are not close to winning. Houston's out.”

Second agent saying what I personally believe to be true. If it's about the combo of winning and the market, it's going to come down to Golden State or Miami.

If the what the first agent is saying is true and his mind is already made up, I think he's definitely going to Golden State and these meetings are just a formality.

yea Riley & this discount shyt is getting out of hand. unless he has a sure enough source on KD coming to the Heat, then yea ask Whiteside to take a discount. but if it is a pipe dream KD is coming, cut the bullshyt & give Hassan his max. :beli:

Exacltly. I hated the way spo played hassan all year and if he dips im still a heat fan but ill follow and root for him wherever becuase we had no leverage to be puttin this nikka in the doghouse where a crap team will give him the same dough and 1st option freedom. All he need is a pg promising to pass 1st and he out. I hope khaled got this nikka a care package if he stays

Good news tho there is a Heat exhibition fan tournament down here and they got him listed to be there so thats a good sign and he was chillin with jrich yesterday too

No possibility of signing durant without moving dragic. No way durant comes here without whiteside deal being done.

I think durant is staying in okc anyway. I would still move dragic while we still can. He's dead weight after this year

Patrick J Maloney: Does MIA have any cap space? Guess I’m just confused as to how Miami plans to make an offer to Kevin Durant with Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Goran Dragic there. – Steve Kyler: If Kevin Durant says yes, Miami says no to Hassan Whiteside. They’ll have about $42 million to play, if they can offload Josh McRoberts.

Thank you. Trade Dragic to Houston. :camby:
Why would Durant come here without Whiteside? These "reporters" suck

Dragic is gettjng paid 15-16 a year. I will never understand why yall continue to complain about him when you see what REAL scrub pgs are getting paid. That australian punk on the Cavs is about to get 10 million

I only complain because that is supposed to be Wade's money. We were doing a good job of growing organically until we made that foolish trade. We overpaid for a third tier PG and gave away two first round picks when our scouting department was on a roll with finding talent in the lower rounds.

And you are missing the point. Right now, we only have space for 2 of the 3 players we want between Wade, Whiteside, & Durant. The reporter is just assuming the Heat will pick Wade & Durant.
