Yall alright in here?
You alright man? You been spending a lot of time lurkingYall alright in here?
this off season got muthafukkers heatwave in shambles......the truth is this team is a wild card. it could end up straight garbage or it could also be surprisingly good. it all depends on the progress of hassan, justise, and j rich. and the health of bosh of course. our bench is gonna be thin but we still have a solid starting lineup. i'm lookin forward to the season.
I was one of Justise biggest stans last season and I think he'll eventually be great but look at his SL highlights this year.
He looks slightly more confident in his shot and slightly better offensively but he's still miles away from being a good offensive player.
Look at his stiffness, footwork, and lack of fluidity. Look at how he gets his points (Like a SF/PF tweener) that uses the fact that he's just more athletic than the D-League bums to drive or hit open shots over bad players with poor defensive understanding.
He's not gonna get those buckets against actual NBA starters. No creativity in his handle, no ability to create space off the dribble, etc.
Dude has the offensive fluidity of Draymond Green without Draymond's handle, vision, range, creativity, and a worse first step.
Maybe he makes a transcendent leap or maybe he's actually much better than what we saw in SL but he's kinda holding back to let them see how the rest of the squad looks
But Justise doesn't look like anything but a much, much worse version of Draymond on offense right now. I will say this though, Winslow still has sky high basketball IQ and decision making which is his biggest advantage. He makes everyone around him better.
Whiteside is actually looking more fluid with his footwork and actually seemed to improve his handle too so he's interesting. I think he's at the cusp of being a legit superstar if he gets a little more offensive versatility and works on his vision, passing, stays healthy, and runs the floor. I'd also like him to be a LITTLE more explosive on that first step but that's asking a lot.
I can see him averaging 19/12/3 AST if he runs the floor and gets his minutes.
Contrary to how much I think our team sucks this coming season, I do like our future. I think we're 2-3 years away from Winslow and Richardson being all-star caliber players.
But the fact that we filled the roster up with a bunch of mental midgets, D-League bums, and leftovers while losing goat-tier mentors/locker room presences like Wade and Deng has me in disgust.
And I love Bosh but I really don't think he's playing for us anymore. The Miami Heat are too scared for his health and Riley wants his salary off the books. It's not a surprise that we loaded up on SF/PF tweeners.
McRoberts/Williams/James Johnson/Babbitt
If Bosh plays a single game then Riley has to try and move his contract but his health history/age is gonna make that hard.
I think we'll be entertaining on a superficial level and I think that our speed is gonna catch the league off-guard like it did when we changed the pace last season but teams are gonna pick up on our lack of half-court ability, slow the pace down, and limit transition buckets which we'll suddenly stagnate. You gonna see a lot of 3rd quarter meltdowns.
all the fighting in here.
We have a young unit that can make the next season worthwhile. What's going to be their achilles heel is the PF spot and Dragic's incompetence as a playmaker. I said this before and I'm going to say it again. Dragic and Whiteside don't mesh well in the pick and roll plays. Dragic is like Brett Favre in his post-career: always throwing a pick six when missing an an open man. Without being bias and so hopeful, I don't think he can be better as a facilitator.
I don't think I'll be able to watch when we play the Bulls
