Brehs really think this just saying that we turning on Hassan or pointing to how we got slammed on the boards is why we should get him?
We got slammed on the boards because we had no big men at all. We lost our entire starting front court and our pace / space was pretty much predicated on Whiteside's GOAT-tier rebounding making up for our lack of size.
I've already said that I think Hassan a max contract player but I don't think brehs are looking at building around him (Which is what offering him the max as a 26 years old) from the mindset of creating an entire scheme and offense built around him especially with the contracts we got locked into right now. Plus the cap space we got and then looking at what we trying to build for.
If we signing Whiteside to the max, we're pretty forfeiting this season. We don't have the pieces or space available to make any real improvements to our roster.
We're not resigning Deng, Wade, and Whiteside. So if we throwing Deng away then our roster Looks like
Dragic/Bumpy
Wade/Richardson
Winslow
McRoberts
Whiteside
No one is taking McRobers for 11 million dollars so unless we using the stretch, he stays with us.
Resigning Whiteside at a cheap 18 million (No Wade) puts us at about 67.7 million and leaves us with about 24 million left to give to Wade and then fill out the rest of the roster.
Who are the pieces that turn this into a championship team that we can get for that? Imagine Wade takes 10 million to give us a break. We got 14 million to grab a starting SF/PF, a backup SF, and a backup center.
What's out there that we can fit 14 mil, fill out those spots, and be a championship squad?
I'm not shytting on Hassan or say he's not a max player, I'm saying that we still pretty much in the exact same position we'd be in now next year so it's pretty much wiping off another year of Wade wear and tear.
We ain't getting rid of Bosh till Feb 9th so what exactly is the end goal for us? That's what I'm asking. Go look at the cap and then look at our "assets" to see if we have anything worth trading for or we'd be willing to trade.
