You would think after witnessing how badly we were getting abused on the board after he went down would put some sense on these nikkas but nope :skip:
some dudes stay switching on hassan every other week. when he got that flagrant on that leather face lookin dude from the spurs, some heat fans really said they're done with him. he's too much of a head case. then after the all star break dude went ham....everybody loved him all over again. now he gets this injury and everybody forgets what he brings to the team. the problem is he still has no identity in the offense. he just sets screens and gets the occasional dunk or hook shot. playoffs exposed our offense terribly. if our offense doesn't get an upgrade it's gonna be the same thing every year in the playoffs. teams will just crowd hassan and force us into Iso ball. Spo gotta reinvent himself this offseason.

Anybody who doesn't want Whiteside back needs to think real long and hard and remember just how fukked up our C situation has been since Shaq/Zo left. You talking about the likes of Joel Anthony, Jamaal Magloire, Dexter Pittman, a broken down Jermaine O'Neal, Eddy Curry. We couldn't rebound for the longest. Didn't have any kind of inside presence. For any faults that Whiteside may have, he deserves all the money we can possibly throw at him in today's league.

As far as off-season moves, aside from the big things that need to happen. They need to target some shooters. It was way too hard for these guys to score with no reliable shooters on the outside. I don't want to see an entire year of Wade not taking 3's again. He can hit that shot. Dude needs to work in the summer to gain confidence in it. It'll only prolong his career.

I think with a healthy Bosh/Whiteside, this season would have finished differently but it's unfortunate. We played with what we had
people forgot before hassan came last year the heat were dead last in rebounding. once hassan came that changed instantly. we still finished like 6th last because he came too late. but at least we could actually compete with teams. and this year we finished 8th. if hassan leaves it's gonna be some dark days ahead.

And nothing with this offense will change until Spo is gone. It's been 8 years. He's given us no reason to believe he can suddenly become some offensive genius. Get shooters and we'll continue to struggle. Yeah we'll make the playoffs and be competitive, but we'll always have an offense where you have to worry about not scoring for half a quarter. Anytime a coach has to change up his offense continuously during a season, or go meet a football coach, you have to wonder at what point is this dude cut out for this. Spo would be a great assistant coach. But we need someone that's gonna change the way this entire team plays offense and it's not gonna happen under him.

Spo isn't going to play guys who shoot and nothing else, so the shooters are going to have to bring something else to the table. Some unrestricted guys who might fit the bill are Courtney Lee and Gerald Henderson. OJ Mayo too but he might have played himself out of our price range this past year

We gotta give Spo a break this year, with all the injuries we've acquired, especially in the middle of the playoffs.

That's not the point. The offense has no creativity in it. Nobody every gets quick looks or easy looks really. We had a few good inbounds plays this ear, but we have nothing but isolation and high pick and rolls in the half court. You almost never see two or three guys moving without the ball at any given time, and we don't have the talent to get away with so little offensive creativity.

We've been giving Spo breaks every year he's been here. I'm not making him a scapegoat for not making it past the Raptors. I'm looking at his whole tenure here. Our offense struggled with LeBron here. It struggled after he was gone and it'll continue to struggle with him as our head coach. Because he is offensively challenged. No team in the NBA should be going several minutes without scoring the basketball. It's inexcusable.

Brehs really think this just saying that we turning on Hassan or pointing to how we got slammed on the boards is why we should get him?

We got slammed on the boards because we had no big men at all. We lost our entire starting front court and our pace / space was pretty much predicated on Whiteside's GOAT-tier rebounding making up for our lack of size.

I've already said that I think Hassan a max contract player but I don't think brehs are looking at building around him (Which is what offering him the max as a 26 years old) from the mindset of creating an entire scheme and offense built around him especially with the contracts we got locked into right now. Plus the cap space we got and then looking at what we trying to build for.

If we signing Whiteside to the max, we're pretty forfeiting this season. We don't have the pieces or space available to make any real improvements to our roster.

We're not resigning Deng, Wade, and Whiteside. So if we throwing Deng away then our roster Looks like

Dragic/Bumpy
Wade/Richardson
Winslow
McRoberts
Whiteside

No one is taking McRobers for 11 million dollars so unless we using the stretch, he stays with us.

Resigning Whiteside at a cheap 18 million (No Wade) puts us at about 67.7 million and leaves us with about 24 million left to give to Wade and then fill out the rest of the roster.

Who are the pieces that turn this into a championship team that we can get for that? Imagine Wade takes 10 million to give us a break. We got 14 million to grab a starting SF/PF, a backup SF, and a backup center.

What's out there that we can fit 14 mil, fill out those spots, and be a championship squad?

I'm not shytting on Hassan or say he's not a max player, I'm saying that we still pretty much in the exact same position we'd be in now next year so it's pretty much wiping off another year of Wade wear and tear.

We ain't getting rid of Bosh till Feb 9th so what exactly is the end goal for us? That's what I'm asking. Go look at the cap and then look at our "assets" to see if we have anything worth trading for or we'd be willing to trade.

so if we don't resign whiteside what do you suggest we do?....we're not getting durant. there's no other bigs available to bring his impact. hassan will improve next season just like he did this year. we're not gonna be a championship level team next year whether we keep hassan or not. 2017 will most likely be the year where we can compete for a title. you can't just let a top 5 center walk away for nothing.

Unless all these role players you guys are mentioning are taking minimums or the mini me (2.9 mill) forget about it...their gonna resign Hassan..they don't have to give him the complete max..just close to it. I can see deng resigning one year and possibly getting a 2-3 deal next summer, that no state income tax is such a bargaining chip. Unless ski mask takes the 2.9 he's out..it sounds like amare is gone but we'll see..green is gone, mcbob will likely be traded...i want them to sign stokes to a briante weber or Tyler type deal...any significant move we make...starts with mcbob contract being traded..remember Beno will probably be on this roster...I can see Wade taking a more backloaded contract with the salary increasing significantly after next season...but then again I'm stoned

If we do sign Hassan who can we sign to be his backup?
Biyombo ended up being clutch for the Raptors because of the decent depth of bigs
