It's incredible lyrically but actually not a massive fan of the beat overall. Love parts of it but it's not one of my favourites...then again in comparison to the rest of the album. Tier 3 is still fantastic.

Besides I have found that on this album particularly, everyone has a favourite song, so everyone's rankings could be drastically different. Testament to this album's greatness.

Can't believe dude put Scary Hours in TIER 4. For some reason that's always been my favorite track on the album. Just a quick one, two, three in-and-out fire verses from my 3 favorite members talking that "witty unpredictable fly" NY shyt...

This was a great thread. Had me thinking back to the days of 8th grade or so and the hype surrounding this album was absolutely insane. Waiting at home for that triumph video to come on and being like :ohhh::ohhh::ohhh: Seeing the Its Yours video with the OLDER GODS teaser at the very end... seeing how Ghost had the passenger seat in the car reclined all the way back, just lamping out. The next time I got into my dad's car after I saw that I was like :win: and put the seat all the way back and he was like "wtf are you doing... don't mess up my seats :camby:" :russ::russ:. It was crazy to think about how BIG these dudes were back in like 96-97. I was young but I remember all of it. After 36 chambers made it's rounds and they all started doing solo stuff every single one of them (especially the big 3) were superstars.. then them coming out with this album..the clothing store, all sorts of stuff.. the hype was crazy. The fact that rap was once at a place where dudes like Rae and Ghost were true STARS in unbelievable if you think about what pops off now (no shots to the younger kids and the stuff today... i can't hate)... but think about it. These dudes were straight spitters speaking in ridiculously local 5%'er influenced slang that no one outside of a few neighborhoods in ONE city could relate to yet they were EVERYWHERE

I listened to this album this morning when I was getting ready to start my day. I haven't heard it in at least 15 years or so. I never realized when I was a kid how ridiculous and horrible Ghost's verse on Projects was. :francis:

Rematch scheduled on October Ninth

A fantastic duet with Rae and Ghost trading verses back and forth about attending the star-studded boxing match between Julio Caesar Chavez and Pernell “Sweet Pea” Whitaker on Sept. 10 1994 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. They talk about the fight and just people watching in general (often just as interesting as the fight itself).

imagine they did a video for this :whoo:

They must have been drunk that night because Pea whooped Chavez, no matter what the scorecard said:birdman:

That guitar sample and tambourine is eerie as fukk but still dope

Then that "Sometiiiiiimes" buildup:ohlawd:

One of the best songs on the album in my opinion

I think I was more amped over that sample being ID'd(after 12 or so years) than I was for the "Shook Ones" sample lol. It was mistaken for being "The End" by The Doors for mad long(aside from the "Sometiiiiimes..." part, of course).
