What happened to the Shaolin album? There was a site with a countdown to release. Not that I ever expected it to work but would be interested to see where it ended up. Think it was something like each $ brought it an hour closer to release or something ridiculous.

For me these are not the standout songs on that album. There are joints on there that have a classic 90s Wu vibe, but overall its a solid 3/5, 3.5 at best.

I think the best choice would be for RZA to use his old box of beats and produce the group in that 90s/00s sound, but failing that I'd rather they just try something different. You might argue they're too old to try and reinvent themselves, but just coming at it from a different angle - a concept not based on Kung Fu, locking in with Alchemist or Easy Mo Bee etc for a full LP wouldn't be a total departure. Albums like this one seem too conservative, fan servicey. I think thats also what the Cilvaringz album was basically.

RZA said he gave away all of those old beats. Nas got some for Lost Tapes 2, Busta got some, as well as some of the clan if i’m not mistaken.

Also RZA has said he won’t spearhead a group album that he’s not producing. He gave Raekwon his blessing to get other producers involved and he’ll rap but Raekwon was too lazy to get it done.

I remember reading he had hundreds of those beats, so I'm sure theres more unreleased.

If only. I'd kill to have him lock in in a basment with an ASR-X, SP1200, S950 and a wall of records and all the weed and dust he can handle.

The Saga Continues really was a 3 mic album ..on the old Source scale. I actually think Math is the weakest of the Wu-Elements. He can bring heat, but still behind 4th, TM...hell, even Bronze.
