The finale was cool.. missed opportunity not to have someone play Redman yet had Biggie, Nas and Fat Joe cameos
When I first saw Mystery of Chessboxing on rap city as a kidDirty was irresponsibly but he was right with "Wu-Tang is for the Children," because they raised me from I was 9 with their debut to now:
great ep. divine gets all the bad rep from wu members but honestly, hes the one working everyday while everyone else was loungin going out and just rappin for checks. Hes the one making the deals and talking with the labels. I couldnt believe ghost in that old wu doc saying divine deserves nothing he wants all the bread.
I wonder how involved he is today. He must do business of some sort with rza i wouod think but maybe not
Rae and dirty super out of pocket
Deck is right but wrong at the same time. Deck in the beginning wasnt doing the feature/mixtape thing the other guys like rae and meth did. Even rza was collabinf a lot pre forever. Deck didnt start til after forever with true master and above the clouds. He tried ti get on the dogg poind album but pac xnayed that when it came down to it.
For being like a main guy on the albums, i never understood how his career went that way. He lacks the charisma of the others but plenty of guys had solo deals with equal chrisma and less talent.
Cap on the other hand has a great album with the pillage but as we know now, cap can bring it but he freestyles mostly everything and his solo career went left after parting with rza. He has his moments, but conpared to deck…
Giving cap a 700k deal pre ironman off winter warz verse and ice cream/ice water when deck did cream being da ruckus wu/aint nuthin to f wit and protect ya neck is insane.
And as much as divine/rza tried keeping all these guys close knit under 1 roof, by end of ep we see vine is gon say fukk these guys. It cant be done.
And where the fukk is method man this season. What was he in 1 ep?
And gza was right. Liquid swords was the last clan solo to have EVERY member on it (sans cap)
Cap went from a 700k advance to driving a hack cab in Baltimore
Very very solid ep. While Ghost wanted the full advance, Divine was the one meeting and negotiating with the suits. Managing a house full of maniacs, yes men, groupies, and weed carriers will tax the most rational sane man. His expression at the end said it all.
To be fair I see Rae and Deck's point. It did appear that Divine switched up and became an industry pleaser. Wu was hot, so he did have some leverage with the labels. But all he could see was the bottom line. Contracts can be renegotiated. Geffen was on some anxiety shyt, he could've told them to kick rocks and start a bidding war. Who didn't want to sign GZA? with RZA production? and an almost complete album? It's a no brainer in 95.
I guess the showrunner reallzed Dave East is too wack of an actor for him to have any role this season.
Rebel deserved more love.. Wu's MVP in my opinion.
The dude that played Power annoyed the hell outta me
All he did was bob his head every time he like a bobble head doll
No wonder Raekwon wants to do his own doc they made him a shifty grimey ass nikka in this.
These dudes were so hard to deal with poor Divine and Rza
U God was like the fukk is this health care shyt out my check nikka?????
I'm gonna miss this show
Raekwon literally turned into the Florida Evans of this show
This was a solid series. The production value was high. This last season was adventurous with the storytelling but the cast members missing here and there just felt odd. No reason ANY of these cats should have had scheduling conflicts because this is the biggest role for all of them.
The Diggs family sainthood lovefest was not needed. Made RZA and Power look like geniuses who only wanted to make music, do good business and corral everyone together for the greater good. Too much screen time was wasted on the Diggs family.
