According to others, and back then, they didn't get fukked on it. Looking back on it now, they look at it differently, but they funded money into the brand to help get Power established, get him an office, establish the legitimacy of the company so that he would look good for investors. It was building up the brand. It was never an investment or even a loan.

Of course you look back, and say we were investors, when in reality, you helped your mans and in turn, your brand. This is just Rae being a hater. Everyone knows Wu Wear was Power's ish...and solely Power's ish. Those dudes made deals with the W without paying RZA or Divine. Imagine he came back to collect

What was it then? a grant? brown paper bags full of cash?
Sounds like start up/angel investing or an initial business loan. Here's some working capital to get you started. File new business paperwork, retain an attorney, get an office, hire staff, manufacturing/marketing.
Weren't they all supposed to get royalties from the use of the logo? or did that only go to Wu-Tang productions?

That’s what investing is though. :heh:

Every member should have got a cut. There is no Wu Wear without Wu-Tang as a group.

But it wasn't an investment, and that's my point. You can help someone out, without expecting something back. Giving him money to help his company off ground isn't necessarily an investment, or even a loan....UNLESS it's stated before hand.

So, if you're brother is starting up a company, and he needs $10K that you have without it bothering you, and you don't even need to get it back. Without explicitly letting it be known that you want it back, you expect to be paid back? You want in on that company?

If I give anyone anything, unless I let it be known upfront that I get it back, or I want x-percentage or company, I can't expect them to. I'm definitely not gonna look back 20 years later, and be like "I was an investor, so I should have got a cut." It doesn't work like that.

They ALL did get royalties from use of W, as long as they were under the umbrella. Anything the W made was split, no matter who did it. Their problem was when someone was bigger than the brand, they didn't want to split their money, so they got out. They keep all of their money, but now when the W makes money, they get nothing unless they did it. Now that the brand is bigger, they look and try to get cuts of what the next man does. RZA & Divine still make money off the W, and Math gets a small percentage in royalties for designing it.

And that's what leads to shyt getting fukked up and beef and lawsuits.
Ghost said it best in the doc: Homeboy business. Handshakes. No clear defined terms written down.
You call it a grant, I call it an investment. We disagree so now I gotta sue you for unpaid royalties and let the tribe lawyers figure it out.

You damn right I'm gone want a piece of the business. And on the flip side if I'm starting a business and somebody kicks in money to help start it I'd either give them a piece of the business or at the very least make a repayment plan with interest for if the business happens to take off just to show gratitude for them investing in me.

Now if the argument is that the Wu members gave him money for Wu Wear in return for him investing all the money in the Wu to help get it off the ground then I could understand not paying them back.

Dope episode, this was what most people wanted the other album centered episodes to be funny enough.

Yea...I wanted more indepth around the albums but I can see that getting played out doing it for 4 albums. I'm glad they skipped over Tical b/c that's the weakest solo imho.

Glad we got to see Ironman being made rather than a story.

Is it true that Assassination Day was a 'bridge' to Forever? I looked on whosampled and there's no samples listed other than the movie intro. So maybe so, it def sounds more like Forever.

After The Smoke Clears is probably my favorite song on the albums so it was dope to see that...did Ghost really have a shootout w/ The Delfonics in his car??? :russ:...

shyt is the worst...I've learned in life sometimes it's best to do business w/ strangers rather than your friends or even family. Strangers don't drag your friendship/relationship as family into the business
