So I like the concept of having allegory episodes for their classic albums, just not a big fan of the execution of them. You take away those episodes and not a whole lot has really happened this season. We basically see them living good in the Wu Mansion and Divine working to try keep everything together and moving. But I still hope it ends well though

It's true when you listen to the CLASSICs:boss: you stay above the frequency they trap the herds in:jawalrus:

...anyway, this episode was like Afroturistic Ninjas meet Cyberpunk in Tromaville:lupe:

It's funny how they answered our omission questions when WZA got those messages of the clan running around city with (Jodeci, Mariah, Redman) all the dope 90s stars:pachaha:

They got deck actin like Voldo :dame:
Deck is subdue, yet his portrayal is so goofy:dahell:

...some of that dialogue sounded like RZA addressing the reason why he changed his style up after Wu's success:ohhh:

And, was that a remix version of Shadowboxin Dave East was doin:lupe:

cool to see ghost had a part in this ep behind the scenes even tho I didn’t necessarily enjoy it…I’ve always low key wondered how the other wu members felt about this show…rae didn’t shyt on it but during a vlad interview he seemed liked he more so would’ve preferred to have seen RZA and the clan work together to put out a movie…dicaprio’s name was thrown around a bit but I can’t recall why that never worked out…I imagine RZA definitely wanted more control…ultimately he felt a TV series was better tho than a movie which I agree with…a movie can only capture so much…went off on a slight tangent…it’s good to see some members are actually involved with the show…and not just in name as producers
In Rae's Breakfast Club interview, the way he explained it was they he, RZA/Leo's people had multiple meetings to try to work out the logistics. But in order to set everything in motion for his series, he had to sign off on by a set date, that they would've missed if they did a movie. RZA told a similar story as well. In the book, he acts like RZA brushed him off completely. Their story is too big and too many characters for a 2.5 hr movie anyway. If Rae had his way, he would've cut Deck, Uey, MK, prob GZA out completely...hell, he prob would've reduced Power's role as well.

According to RZA, he said they are welcome in the writer's room and on set at any time...they just don't come. Ghost be paranoid when they call up asking for input about that ish, Shameik at one time was speaking to Rae pretty frequent. GZA and dude were vibing for a while, having him along for a couple of shows. I'm not sure about the rest.

dude who's playing the rza must have had a scheduling conflict, cuz he hasn't really been in the last couple episodes.

also, they portray divine as a business mastermind. same goes for power to a lesser extent.

I'm not a big fan of the allegorical episodes. why start doing them now when they never did them in the first 2 seasons?

damn thanks…I need to watch that interview too

on the one hand, I understand where rae and the rest of them are coming from as they were very young men when they started out and wanted to branch out as established men and show/prove (probably for themselves) that they could be just as successful on their own…but I can’t fault RZA for the moves he made and the control he had (that they gave him) early on…they just simply wouldn’t be who they are without that

I definitely thought this as well. But im assuming they must have been light on material or compelling storylines for season 3 and basically are using these episodes as filler.

you could call it remixed. they prolly not trying to get charged by usign the og instrumentals with the samples, so they replaying them with slight alterations. none of these redone versions sound good to me. its my main gripe with the show, but i understand it sine sample laws are so annoying.

Nothing really dropped the first 2 seasons.
If you say enter. ... they already talked about how it came together.

they not filler.... they happened when they albums were released.. Its the visual concept and inspiration of the album

Also what I learned from reading the interview i posted and see about the allegorical episodes... its the verbal tells one story the visual tells another .. But they are both related and telling the same

I'm glad I'm not the only one who ain't feeling all these fantasy episodes. I just think it's corny. The one they had from a previous season about some make believe kung fu movie with the characters speaking ebonics was cringe as fukk.

Most of the actors who play the Wu members are killing it, especially Raekwon, ODB, GZA and Inspectah Deck. I would have rather just seen the real life shyt they experienced which is entertaining enough. The rest of that extra shyt just ruins it IMO.
