TYRONE GA!
Having listened to this album a few times. I think the verses are pretty dope. Though I would liked to hear more GZA, a little more Ghost and Rae too, but it does show how much the not so prominent rappers have improved as lyricists, especially in the case of Masta Killa (who was always nice), Deck and Capadonna.

Musically, I did not like the production like that. I think that RZA has sort of gone to the point where he is just better suited to do movie soundtracks. It's not wack but it's just a little to overdone when I think that the rapping is better suited over something a little more stripped down and a lot of the samples have been done too much recently, like I love the title track but it's at least the 6th or 7th time I have heard 'Wake Up' used over the past 7 or 7 years.

That being said Ruckus in B-Minor is my favorite joint off the album.

Edit: Method man doesn't get enough credit as a rapper. That 420 album was one of the underrated albums of the past decade, imo. Dude carried 8 Diagrams, imo and he was incredible on this album.

Even with my gripes with the production, I still think it's a good listen and is sort of a testament to how strong Wu-Tang is as a group. I think that this should be their final album, though. It's clear the growth of everyone involved, makes it harder and harder to make a cohesive album with so many egos at play and honestly, the group is little stale without ODB still being alive. RZA is the heart of the group but ODB was the soul in a lot of ways.

Exactly how I feel. the production was very hit and miss on this jawn.

Ruckus is also my favorite joint too.

Meth and MK definitely did their thing.

I can't really see and feel another genuine album to be made in the future, we still have this wu tang cilvarings project that is meant to be something great but how long do we have to wait?

Yeah, you could well be right, what is the cilvarings project going to be like? Who's featuring? Will the public ever hear that 5 mil album? Lol...

and in contrast you see the arenas jammed pack for the wu shows..
fukkin piracy rules everything around us..

Wasn't too concerned with the albums sales for this (or any album for that matter). Knew it wasn't gonna do great. Most likely got hurt by poor promotion, bad-mixed press/reviews and all group members not being fully behind it.

yea that's the reality of being a 90's act that's not Nas or Jay, Mobb didn't crack 10k and MOP/Onyx etc cant even crack 5k. Lox's shyt came and went and they went 2x as long without dropping anything. Public Enemy has dropped a ton of albums over the last decade, I bet even some diehard old fans aren't aware of that

that's the financial crux of making a WTC album, they aren't going to perform anything from it so its not a vehicle to tour. when they tour, the most recent song performed is usually Pinky Ring. it doesn't really make any business sense for RZA, that's why he wrote it off as a loss from the jump.

Going to see Red & Mef tonight :blessed:

Sales were bound to dissappoint, album, which I really like, really had nothing going for it at this point. The few guest shows they did were way overshadowed by the tweets and solo interviews. No real video in this day and age plus none of them are up on social media/modern marketing like a J. Cole.

Fukk it tho Wu Tang Forever:salute:

So you guys think that Rza just had the Clan rhyme to skeleton beats and then built the arrangements around the vocals after the fact?

The Public Enemy albums go hard though. I love hip hop, but hate how the pioneers are forgotten, especially when they are still credible artists.
