Campfire is dope. Let's not act like all of 8 Diagrams is trash
Yeah, but that was 7 years ago... so give or take a few years i guess. I don't know. musically it just seems sort of new but still wu.
It definitely has a better energy than most if not all of the songs on 8 diagrams, although Take it Back had a dope vibe to it. But I truly believe the bad press Ghost and Rae gave that album before it came out hurt it. Just put a real negative vibe around the album and Ghost hasn't even heard it
Rae and Ghost definitely sabotaged that project. These dudes have stood by some mediocre projects before but sh!t on 8 Diagrams. That album is criminally hated on. There's some dope stuff on there. And what makes it crazier about Rae and Ghosts hatchet job is the fact that Ghost admitted that he never even listened to the album. Knowing Rae, he probably ain't never really listened to it either.
And here's my main issue with it: You're in a group with 8 other dudes, when you shyt on a project before it even has a chance to reach the listeners, you hurt their money too, not just yours. And this is Rae before Cuban Linx 2, so he had two straight meh joints to his name by the time 07 came around. He was still the guy living off of one album. Ghost at least had some quality to his name.
All facts. Rae and Ghost displayed selfishness to the Nth degree. And I been saying that Rae basically has NO albums that he commandeered by himself that was anything special. There was dudes on here that was saying that Rae should be the one guiding this Better Tomorrow album and that sh!t bugged me out. Rae has 2 special albums in his catalog...Cuban Linx 1 and 2, BOTH exec produced by RZA. Everything else has been underwhelming, to say the least. Why would anyone have faith in Rae's vision over RZA? And he even went public sh!tting on this album, and RZA's production on it, and come to find out (SHOCKINGLY!) he never heard the sh!t! I love them, but Rae and Ghost can be some funny mufvckas sometime.
This was dope. The second half of GZA's verse with that beat switch
