Really would like to see a Jodeci reunion, a great Jodeci reunion, so I'm looking forward to the new album. Still, I can't help, but be:ohhh::snoop::to::mjlol: and :dead: at the pictures and comments.

Devante Swing is a great producer and underrated at the same time. Still, I think people give him too much credit in comparison to Timbaland. Devante will always get props for jump starting the careers of Playa, Missy, Timbaland, Ginuwine, and Stevie J., but let's not get carried away here. Timbaland has been producing bangers and classics for nearly 20 years for everyone from Jay Z to Justin to Madonna. Devante's run is nowhere that. He also wasn't proficient in other genres like Timbo. Anyone fortunate enough to hear those Da Bassment demos could see how far ahead Timbaland's sound was even then. Many of those songs were Timbaland productions.

When Timbaland and Missy left Devante, they were a dominant production/writing duo in Urban music.

Its pretty simple. Devante handled the keys n melody. Timbo handled the bounce.

No More Pain has devante all over it. Timb has never been nice on the boards like that. His forte was always drums.

Im pretty sure Missy prolly had a bigger role in their 3rd album than Timbaland.
Co-sign. I love Jodeci's music but I especially love devante Swing's production when he was messing with Timbo. Some of the songs do straight up just sound like Timbo songs. For example

But the best stuff had a strong Devante influence. Devante's sound is much sexier NO HOMO Part Time Lover for H Town for example had that Timbo in the back but all that soul, sex NH on top is Devante. The Bachelor is a brilliant album for example but it's not as soulful/sexy as any Jodeci album. Timbo doesn't have that in his locker. That's partly because his strengths lie in that brilliant drum and bass sound mixed with the craziest space weird shyt. The plain laidback vocals of Ginuwine/Aaliyah take a back seat to the brilliant wierdness.

No More Pain is a great example of the partnership. The beat/percussion is all Tim but those beautiful keys? Devante's church/soul mayne. Brilliant.

man jodeci hasn't done an album in almost 20 years. talk about NOT striking while the iron is hot. that being said, I'd check it out, however, I'm sure those cats gotta be :flabbynsick: as hell for the most part.

Co-sign. That 94-95 sound with that extra Tim bounce in the back is GOAT to me. That Part Time Lover joint off Above The Rim... too dope.
