There's no way in hell they are finding that box, recovering it and analyzing it in 12 days. We will never know sadly.

It's a little distasteful but I think they did that so the families would hear it from them first instead of hearing about it on the news.

I think we'll find out what happened but it will take a long time. For comparison, the wreckage of Air France 440 was found in a few days but it took 2 years to find the black box.

Me not knowing anything about the recovery tactics involved in a submerged aircrafts, how will they pull what's left of it out of the ocean? Aircraft carriers with large cranes? Helicopters?
