Of course, there are plenty of holes in this theory but it's what I believe. I think the U.S. knows (via satellites) that the plane has crashed but they are just waiting on somebody else to find it since they don't want to reveal how they know. As obsessed as the U.S. is with counterterrorism, the military would be on high alert if they had any doubt that the plane wasn't anywhere else other than the bottom of the ocean right now.

Definitely at some point the president picked up a phone and talked with someone at the CIA/NSA and said "Look, don't bullshyt me, do we need to worry about anything?"

That mixes well with your idea, because I think people would have reported some activity if we had some intelligence that we might be in potential danger. There's been no reports of anything like that.

Tracking things in space/air, that are not trying to hide, a lot easier then being under water.

Someone knows where this plane is. It's just who wants to give it up. The way the USA is acting sending our high level equipment out to that ocean, is what makes me possibly think it's there. But. It's honestly stupid to keep assuming after 2 weeks.

I agree. We are going on 2 weeks with this plane missing. If someone was looking to crash the plane into a building or something similar, their window of opportunity was the first few hours that the plane was missing. With all the satellites, drones, and other technology we have, I just don't see anyone hiding a plane for this long. Obama would not be sleeping if he thought some terrorist group had a Boeing 777 parked out in his garage right now.

I think the issue is not that we can't find it but that our government and China are in staring contest. We release a little bit. They release a little bit. Israel didn't beef up its air space security because it's paranoid or for no reason. They know something is afoot. Much of what's being reported is diversionary and meant to ferret out the people who took the plane.

It could be possible that the plane could have landed somewhere in Asia . A poor country with little to no communication with the outside world . It also could have crashed in the Indian Ocean .

Oh, no doubt. Whoever did this knew what they were doing. The reason I'm so skeptical of crashing is because, with the surveillance technology we have in this day and age, something would have surfaced and been observed. Much of the plane would be deep I the ocean, but certain plastic parts and other things such as the inflatable slides/rafts and a lot of the luggage would be floating and moving with the current. Especially now, after all the time that's passed? No ship, satellite, plane, or person on a beach has encountered even small traces of the wreckage?

If I'm wrong, I'll admit I was mistaken. But that plane is probably in a hangar. I'm not even convinced it was terrorism. This could have been something entirely else, such as those engineers from that defense company.
