Sick shyt. Look at it..the french version
Cuties is a 2020 French teen coming-of-age comedy drama film written and directed by Maïmouna Doucouré on her feature film directorial debut. The film stars Fathia Youssouf, Médina El Aidi-Azouni and Maïmouna Gueye in the lead roles.
Sick demonic shyt. Look at it, all the "stars" are girls of color. Even the writer/director. These demons eat this type of stuff up.

That so called progressive site ERA is defending this chit. Makes sense since a mod was exposed as a pedo

It sounds like the film is actually against pedophilia and sexualizing young girls, and Netflix dropped the ball and marketed in the worst way. I feel bad for the writer and directors, both of who are black women trying to send a good message. White mean execs in charge showing their ass and these women are paying for it.

Haven't seen the movie (not sure I will) but apparently it's indeed against the oversexualisation of young girls, but also about coming from a traditional family but growing up in the West. I think the girls want to be part of some dancing group or something. This is the french poster.

Surprised to see that it came out on Netflix in the US, it just was released in theaters here a couple days ago.

Unfortunately making pedophiles legal again is the end game for a lot of western nations. Never forget that.
No it's not. That's never going to happen.

The Netflix marketing poster was horrible but the movie itself could be different. Gotta let it rock and the feedback from the viewers.
I read some of the reviews and you're correct. The central message of the movie seems to be about the dangers of over-sexulizing young girls. Netflix undermined that message with their gross marketing.

Sundance 2020: Cuties is an Uncomfortable Portrayal of Tweenhood - MTR Network

Despite the “cuties” wanting you to think they’re mature, Doucouré reminds you constantly in the screenplay their age. The interactions they have between other people in the film - like older classmates - serve as a heat check that no matter their insistence, these are children so act accordingly. Doucouré pairs this reminder with close tracking shots while the girls practice dancing. The closeness of the camera while these children attempt to dance sensually is very uncomfortable to witness. But that’s the objective; it reinforces how over-sexualized girls like them have been. In particular Black girls, who have commonly been told they’re “hot in the pants” or “too grown” starting at this age. The onus is put on the audience (the adults in the room, literally) to look away while these girls are trying to figure themselves out.

American normalization. :mjlol:

This shyt has been going on for years, TLC loves broadcasting pedophile nonsense like Dance Moms and trash like that.

This is what I came here to say, them dance/pageant shows been pulling this shyt for a minute now.

I think if you have your daughters doing any of this shyt it's straight child abuse.

Message of the film is against sexualization of young girls, Netflix markets it in the most pedo way possible. :skip:

This is an extreme case but it's just another notch in the long list of Netflix' promotional department being a mess. Edgar Wright had to ask Netflix to remove the internal trailer Netflix made for The World's End because it contained major spoilers and Xavier Dolan called them out a few years ago after they modified the aspect ratio of his film Mommy (shot in 1:1 with a few pivotal scenes in widescreen) without consulting him.

Apparently the Netflix formula is "sell the movie to people at all costs!" and it cosntantly leads to shyt like this.
