I taught myself how to sew. My mother did teach me the basics but I started using a sewing machine and make shirts and window curtains.

Taught myself how to tattoo. The coil machine is essentially a modified sewing machine. My mother was a seamstress. :ohhh:

I could break down a computer apart and put it back together, Building an oven does not make you a man

My father didnt take pleasure in that working conditions. He didnt take pleasure in such low wage job.

If you buy a man a fish, he'll be hungry again the next day. Teach him to.fish and he'll eat for a lifetime

We aren't men because we can't build an outside fireplace? :camby:

As a man, you just need to be able to:

Install/Unclog/Repair a toilet and sink.
Fix the stove.
Rewire electrical outlets and fans.
Change your oil/tires/brakes/hoses on your car.
Assemble furniture.
Hang drywall.
Remove/replace roof shingles.

That's it. The rest of the repair shyt you call people to do.

:ehh:This week I attempted to construct a wood fire pizza oven for my mother. She likes to bake breads for the whole family and she found a kit that was half price at an auction.:ehh: I took a day off. Because these types of projects needed 2 people to lay the foundation and the brickwork, I called 20 of my pals, each of them did not know anything about basic carpentry or any handyman skilled that you would expect a father to teach his sons.:snoop:I even offered them money and delicious woodfire pizza after we finished the project :ohlawd:None of them knew anything about basic brickwork or woodwork. At the end of the day, I had to pay this old Italian dude 300 dollars for a day worth of work :damn:I' ain't a Tradie but I still see basic handy man skills essential for any man to learn. Especially in this economy. Brehs need to start learning those male skills.
Singlemothers are not handymen. Single mothers call the handyman.
