Generations of mistakes from previous politicians has led to this. The greatest mistakes Africans did themselves were NOT redrawing the borders after the Europeans left. This war in Ethiopia is all about ethnic land. Fake nations always lead to violence. Africa needs to redraw its borders.

Under Meles/TPLF, due to redrawing the borders within Ethiopia, accepting the difference in ethnic groups and religious groups, Ethiopia experienced its most peaceful leadership, Mengistu and Haile Selassie were much more brutal, violent and more oppressing. Ethnic federalism works, this war is occurring because the PP is trying to dismantle a system that works and is supported by all ethnic groups in Ethiopia. If anyone think that they will redraw the ethnic borders in Ethiopia again after TPLF/Zenawi already did they have another thing coming. This battle will get unfortunately bloodier if they dare do that.

For Black people, clinging to individual identity is exactly in conflict with the stated goal of throwing off white supremacy. I say “stated” because let’s be honest, Black people aren’t really trying to throw off anything anywhere.

when it comes to white people, in global politics they understand in dealing with the rest of the world that they’re white first and foremost. It’s a waste of time talking about what they do among themselves, because they understand when and how to come together. We don’t. And it’s a testament to them that they can carry on the internal struggles they do against each other while still forming a united front against us. That’s politics in its highest form.

Our unified identity in world politics will have to transcend borders to have an impact not just tribes. at which point will we stop putting our identities to the side? on a national level or an international level? they never have... even when they were colonizing Africa they were fighting mostly amongst themselves. :laff:

a lot of European countries took up colonialism out of jealousy of their neighbours gains, internally driven competition for resources. i don't need to give up my tribe or country to understand that Black comes first. the divisions stem from miseducation and hatred. you will never get that out of man. what we can do is write constitutions and legislations that secure a country from tribal monopoly and politics. Africans have to elect the right leaders for the right reasons and short of genocide tribes are not actually going anywhere, it is people who have to overcome their small mindedness. Parties formed along tribal lines is an auto L. you can see coming in 4k glory. that's an issue with the constitution. situations like in Ethiopia are predictable and avoidable.

Black people have never gone to war with each other like Europe did last century, yet we have been branded as the war mongers. Maybe if people understand that there is money to be made for everyone if our collective situations are improved we can get on the same page. A lot of us just happen to Be black skinned and could give 2 fukks about bonding over it on a deeper level. Not my sentiments but I'm not about to assume we will get folks on code to kumbaya over shyt else but real tangible goals.

And please stop using the word Tribe or Tribal. The fighting in Ethiopia is ethnic. People who have different languages, DNA, religion, culture, dance, music, food and so on. They are completely different people. Tribe or Tribal is what happened in Rwanda or Somalia, people from the exact same blood and culture fighting.

It doesn’t matter who created it or how new the concept is, all them motherfukkers drive cars and have smart phones right:jbhmm: so, if they can adopt new things like this, why not the power of their blackness

There's good intention in your words but this might be the worst thing i have read on this site for minute. The only race on this planet that is to behave as a monolithical culture when nothing could be further from the truth. When have cacs ever had to ? We are not just black, this all encompassing idea of blackness is a lie perpatuated by white people fam,we never were a monolith. Africa is a continent carved up like a birthday cake by people that did this to keep the colonial machine working like a perpetual mobile. We do the self policing by changing the narrative of what blackness is to fit our own self image accordingly. Ethiopian and many other communitites throughout Africa co existed with their own cultural heritage before the USA was a thought, same goes for most of modern Europa. The idea that black people should conform to some sort of homogenous cultural ideal is just based in eurocentric race thinking. I am many things besides black and how that equates to me as human is a privilege that whites take for granted but we fight over as if the one fits all solution actually works for human beings. I am the son of a Sarramacan man and a Parramacan woman who can trace his lineage to Nigeria(Igbo) and Ghana(Akan),that means something were i come from and says way more about who i am then a vague description made by people that may or may not look like me but have no idea what that means outside of their understanding. Language, culture, family and religion is what makes me who i am,the colour signifies my heritage and genetics but i refuse to let trauma be the glue that binds us,it should be the differences that we should champion to each other and use our specific strengths to move forward not coagulate into some inert concept that never existed in the first place.

You likely one of our people. I will not shoot disrespect towards people like you. History is messy but I respect you and the country you represent. Liberia and Sierra Leone have special places in my heart. Reading more about some of those countries have taught me a lot. I hate saying Africans but if they refuse to say which countries, we generalize. If you ever felt like I was disrespectful, I apologize. Correct me, young lady

I'm Krio, product off Slavery myself.

Sierra Leone is very fascinating and interesting Land, with a complicated history. And probably the most important land/territory lowkey when it comes to the Black English Speaking Atlantic World.

Of course its true. Ethiopia is one of the most diverse countries in Africa. You literally have almost every African phenotype, genotype, and language family in there. The Semitic speaking Amhara are different from the Cushytic speaking Oromo who are different from the Omotic speaking tribes in the South who are in turn different from the Nilotic speaking tribes to the West of them.

Did you think all Ethiopians looked the same? :what:

you are a black man first and foremost. Even if you think you’re not. I honestly think your mindset is pathetic:yeshrug:

fukk outta here, every tribe had warriors except for the extreme south which stayed out the way and kept with their ancient lifestyles. Tigrayans are riders but that’s no different than any other group.

True but they took over in the last war and basically they had it until the New President got it and basically the whole war is a beef over who really controls the country.

Coli.
Nobody sees themselves as black in Ethiopia. People see themselves as whatever ethnic group they belong to. Stop projecting our notions on race to ethnic fighting in foreign countries.
A lot of people don't know much on what goes on in Africa or how the people view themselves over there, lot of posters on this site never left America.

So they are not Ethiopian. They don't see themselves as Black?

The term black and Africa/African are forced terms on the people of the continent. Let us use Ethiopia as an example. A man or woman born and bred and is from Mekelle consider themselves Tigrayan point blank. Nothing else matters to them and any other term is a falsehood in their eyes. A man or woman born and bred and is from Harar consider themselves Harari. . Nothing else matters to them and any other term is a falsehood in their eyes Ethnicity is KING. Your oral traditions, dance, music, culture and so are all ethnic base not national base. Once we really accept the difference in African ethnic groups and redraw the border it will thrive, but now Africans are STILL dealing with the deliberately designed borders that was made to ensure violent bloodbaths for centuries to come. Respect a man/woman’s bloodline and ethnic group, respect their ancestral lands and claims and redraw these false borders; the next generations don’t need to suffer because of a pencil in the halls of Europe.

After a certain age or research this should be basic knowledge.
