If I remember correctly Wayne kinda hated on him. When Amilli first dropped in 2008 on the radio, it was Wayne and Cory going back & forth and Cory was smoking Wayne’s boots.
Then the next month the video dropped and it was a half-decent Wayne only version. Lil wayne realized he messed up Cory’s chance and felt bad later on and that’s how we got “6 Foot, 7 Foot” which wasn’t as good.
That was probably mack maine who made that call...

So the original A Milli was gonna be like those Carter IV interludes (wayne intro/Tech N9ne & Andre 3000/Bun B, Nas, Shyne, Busta) but they scrapped it for the album version. It was gonna be Cory, Tyga, Hurricane Chris, Chamillionaire, and Lil Mama. The Cory version that leaked wasn't as good as the album version... those last 2 Wayne verses were Basura.
Anyhow, Cory went major at a bad time for NY artists especially. He got caught in the wrong wave where guys like him, Jae Millz, even Papoose to an extent weren't clamored for, especially as other regions commanded the scene. The gun charge didn't help either, but that was around 2012 or so. Still, Gunz got caught up with a bunch of bad luck and nonsense.
