Sony's at it's best when they have competition and with the lack of competition output hasn't been the same. I know dev cycle is different today, but they're not producing the same quality they were in previous gens imo. Plus, they've already started price gouging with the increase of PS+ and were one of the first to go to $70 games. Without competition they can easily do stuff like raise price of PS+, remove features and other stuff. In every market you need competition and no I don't think Nintendo in it's current state is competiton and same with PC. Both of those players are indirect competitors but won't matter at end of the daySo because you don't know how to run a competent business, it's my fault as your competitor?
If Sony gets out of hand with pricing, someone else will fill the void. That's how shyt works.
They had an expensive console once and it almost cost them everything. Luckily, they know that GAMES are all that people care about at the end of the day to be successful. Even with that expensive price, they were still losing money on the console sold because of that bluray drive. They know they can't pull a PS3 again (they've said so multiple times since).
Yall want prices to stay the stagnant for consoles, meanwhile EVERYTHING else continues to go up with the increase in better technology and regular inflation?

This. Sony was even MORE in a dominant position and people regard PS2 as the best system of all time. Gamecube was a flop outside of some classics and Xbox was just getting out there. This "keep them in check" narrative doesn't follow reality imo.PS2 says otherwise
